Ordered Takeout. Hadn't been to this new restaurant since the disastrous Mama Mia's went out. Extremely pleased to note that the interior was flipped entirely, and the place seemed very casual.
No one out on the patio, but tonight was way too muggy for that. The side lot was full, but I came from Squire anyway, so just parked between the gun shop & UPS store and walked over. Plenty of space on that side of the lot, especially with the dentist & bank closed.
Ordered steak street tacos, green chicken enchiladas, Mexican street corn, churros, and flan.
The order also came with house made tortilla chips and to die for salsa. Managed to restrain myself to a few chips and only part of one salsa container.
The street corn was absolutely delicious, completely devoured it. Zero shame on that. Nice kick of lime, and very high quality lime wedges with everything. I wish I could get limes that juicy (go through a LOT of limes in my house).
Ate one of the enchiladas and half the rice. The enchilada was wonderful. It had just enough kick to have a pleasant heat without overwhelming. Chicken was shredded and tasted like a really good tinga on the seasoning. Cheese was generous but not too much. Greatly appreciated that. The salsa verde was a mild-medium heat, decent kick.
The street tacos had plenty of cilantro & onions. They came with rice & beans on the side. The refried beans were just right - not too soupy, not too greasy.
The churros were so cute! Chopped into little bite size pieces and came with a side of vanilla ice cream. Ate one just to try it, but my heart belonged to the flan. Ate a few bites of that, the rest is in the fridge for tomorrow. Or later tonight. Probably later tonight.
Definitely will be back to...
Read moreSol Agave was a good choice for Mexican in Germantown and has a huge menu. The food was casual Mexican, the spice blends and salsa were excellent. The refried beans were flavorful but spicier than average by a lot, I loved them but they were too hot for two of our party. Their cheese sauce on the steak fajita quesadilla is definitely a wetter sauce than expected. Again some of the party really liked it and one found it off-putting. The ribeye had a very flavorful crust but was thin and overcooked in sections. The fries that came with the steak were excellent and a star of the meal, steak fries crispy outside, pillowy inside, and lightly seasoned. The steak and chorizo (Jimador)tacos were massive and delicious with crispy fried meat, would recommend if you want a very meat forward taco. Overall the meal was good, with some great flavors, but also some misses. Service was fast and on point, quick to correct the one mistake made(missing shrimp skewers from a plate) and reasonable attentive without being pushy. Will go again and try...
Read moreI'd give 6 stars if I could. Just a wonderful experience. I took my elderly mom here for lunch and all the emoloyees were at our every need. Polite. Fast service. They came back to check in us. Even other than our server that noticed an empty glass were right there asking if we needed a refill of our soda or some water. The food arrived promptly and hot. It was fresh and delicious. I'm very picky and have traveled to Mexico several times (the food is the best). This food is authentic Mexican cuisine. The decor is very nice and very clean. There was also really nice outdoor seating. I can't wait to come back. My mom was very pleased with everything. Thanks to all that made this such a nice lunch for her.
Adding to this review. We took my mom here for her birthday and they brought her fried ice cream dessert with a sparkly candle in it and sang her Feliz Cumpleanos (happy birthday) in Spanish. So cool. We come here all...
