In attempt to support local restaurants during the Covid-19 Pandemic I ordered & picked up our dinner last night from Hung Hao. I might add we have been frequent customers of this establishment when they have been open for inside seating for the past many years. When I called in to place my order the Manager/Owner took my order promptly, however without any friendly person ability.
When I came in to pick up my order I was disappointed that the Manager/Owner was NOT wearing a face mask. This made me feel very uncomfortable!
Without any emotion or personality he asked me for my name. I was pleased my order was ready. I mentioned I forgot to add chili oil to my order. He went in back and brought out a small container of the chili oil. I asked if he had something for me to put the chili oil container in. He responded no. He saw my displeasure and opened the stapled bag and put the chili oil in. I also asked if there were three fortune cookies in the bag? He answered, there should be. A girl from the kitchen came out and he asked her if there were fortune cookies with my order. She also said there should be. Not a big deal but it would have been good customer service to simply check the bag or provide me 3 fortune cookies. Turns out there were two.
After I paid there was no thank you or appreciation for my business. Assuming he is the Manager/Owner someone should teach him some customer service skills, that he clearly lacks. It would also be nice to see a welcoming smile.
What really provoked me to write this review was that the plastic lid for the quart of soup I had ordered was cracked. When I picked up the bag from the floor of my back seat a fair amount of the chicken soup broth leaked all over the floor and back seat of my car as I lifted the bag. I might suggest they put the food orders in a plastic more protective bag.
It’s unfortunate how poorly this restaurant is run by management, as they do have some of the best Chinese Food...
Read moreI’m from out of town, and I was hopeful that with the good reviews that I would find decent Chinese food. Sadly, it’s just meh. Nothing horribly wrong with it, but nothing very right, either.
The restaurant is not open for sit down dining, so you basically stand in a 3‘ x 10‘ area until your order is ready.
For fried dumplings, they give you a decent amount of meat in each dumpling, but not much flavor. I always hope for some kind of distinctive flavor, ginger, scallion, garlic, something. But no.
The dumpling dough is quite thick, and the frying oil sticks to it, so it’s very oily. The dipping sauce has no personality whatsoever, it’s like they tried to find the most medium of everything.
The other dishes were similar. If you’re hungry, it will fill you up. If you’re looking for interesting Chinese flavors, from the Cantonese or Szechuan styles, I would look for another place. If you’re simply ordering food for fuel, then...
Read moreWe've been enjoying the food here for the last 2 years. I realize there are always a few hiccups with takeout orders. Missing items, forgotten condiments, etc... What I will not put up with any longer is the poor handling and packaging of items. Perhaps its time to eliminate the paper containers that leak all over. I have made comments to the restaurant in the past about the messes I have had when I arrive home. Tonight was the last straw. When I have to scrub the carpeting of my car because the oil and sauce has seeped from the containers AND the paper bag it is all packed in, I'm done with you. There are many Asian take-outs in the area. We will now be expanding...
