Wish I could give it 0 stars but had to do one to write a review. We drove an hour to try this place because we heard good things about it. The worst service and food I have had in a long time. Since we had never been there before the first thing I did was let the waitress know so she would give us more time to look over the menu and ask questions. When we finally ordered I got chicken parmesan and asked if I could do grilled chicken instead of fried. The waitress said she can do that but it wont be freshly grilled chicken because they dont use the grill at night it would be previous grilled chicken that was cut up into pieces earlier that day. I told her that would be fine as long as it was grilled. She asked us what dressing we wanted on our salad and my husband and I both wanted caesar dressing. When they brought out our meals the gave me noodles , sauce, and chicken pieces but there was no parmesan on it at all. I ask where my parmesan was and they told me if I wanted parmesan to use the parmesan on the table. I said how can you give me chicken parmesan without any parmesan? They were confused and said that I got the wrong dish. I said I asked if I could sub fried for grilled chicken which wasn't a problem but their is not any parmesan. They told me that they do not add cheese to it because it is in the breading so if I wanted parmesan to use the table stuff.when the check came out it was much more expensive than it should have been. I went to ask what was all the additional cost. I thought the salad came with the meal and was not informed it was a up charge. They said we asked for a caesar salad so that was why they changed us $7 more I said no we only asked for caesar dressing and assumed that was how all their salads came because we had never been there before. Then my meal was an additional 5.50 so i asked why and they said because grilled chicken cost them more so they had to charge me more for my meal. I told them if I was informed of that I would have just ordered something different. All the hidden and deceptive fees really upset me and the food was gross anyway. I will never go back or encourage...

I am from out of town and family brought me to this place for a celebration. It was a huge let down. Maybe I should have lowered my expectations of mid western Italian food. We called for a reservation of about 25 people but the snow storm impacted that so we showed up with about 12 people. The owner was definitely not happy about that, but he got to seat other tables and have our waitress cover more tables…to me that’s more money. We were seated on folding tables with no table cloth or paper on it. However, it took an hour and 47 minutes to get our food. Our waitress was working sooo hard, and I don’t pblame her. She was overwhelmed and had many tables. But the service was just overall lacking. We cleaned up our table ourselves for the waitress and I helped her gather up dishes and menus. But let’s discuss the food… The bruschetta came with bread and you had to make your own, I am used to it being on top of bread already. The fried mushrooms tasted like chemicals. The salads had nothing in them besides lettuce, carrots, and cabbage - not even another vegetable or maybe a crouton! I ordered pasta with shrimp…the shrimp came to the table and we could all smell them. They smelled baddddd. Multiple people at the table got shrimp and it smelled up the entire room with the fishiness. Maybe I am used to high quality shrimp but they definitely shouldn’t smell that way. I went ahead and tasted one…they were fishy and rubbery. Definitely frozen and bad. None of us ate the shrimp. No one liked their food besides the pasta Rosa. Can’t beat the prices though. You get what you pay for. Don’t go here with high expectations of quality Italian...

Weird mixed bag here. I ordered calamari and veal parmesan with their pesto alfredo sauce. The calamari, for the first time in my life, had a 50/50 ratio of rings to the far superior whole squids. The rings were unfortunately tough like a well done piece of beef, and the whole squids were decent but nothing to write home about. The veal parmesan came out with farfalle in a bowl absolutely drowned in sauce, which I didn't mind because the pesto alfredo was delicious. Probably the best pesto alfredo I've ever had. The veal itself, however, was a profound disappointment. The portion was about half of what I've had from other similar small-town Italian places, but I hoped it would be a cut above that in taste and texture. I hoped wrong. This veal was like a piece of softened shoe leather breaded with sawdust. It was only edible because it was submerged in that inexplicably delicious pesto.

Because of the fantastic pesto sauce I'll probably be back to try something else, but I would strongly suggest skipping the veal. I'm about to go to steak n shake so I can remember how beef is...

This review is based solely on the 7" Procopios Deluxe. I found the deep dish crust to be somewhat lacking, the air pockets were flat and elongated suggesting to me it gets rolled with a rolling pin. It was somewhat flavorless also. However, it had good crisp. Did not seem wood fired, I suspect an oven. The sauce was also nothing special, somewhat bland. The toppings were fine, with large pepperoni. The restaurant atmosphere is gorgeous. The service staff was nice and friendly. The time to get food from after the order was longer than expected for me. I feel the pizza isn't what this place is known for. I will try a plain cheese thin crust next time, and update my review. But as for now, not bad, not mind blowing either. Updated: I visited again today. Stayed clear of the Pizza and went with Angel Hair Basil Pasta. Dish was pretty good. Plated well. Came with a side salad (very basic) and garlic bread. Sticking with the same score. Food is good. Prices are up there...

Procopio's is the best dining experience in all of Vincennes and surrounding areas. I've been here several times in my travels and cannot say enough about the cuisine, the people, and the atmosphere. I am extremely addicted to the lobster, shrimp, and scallop ravioli with the rosa sauce that has ham and mushrooms. What an amazing dish with the perfect blend of flavors. Today I'm trying something new though. The image is the Meat Pizza with banana peppers added. Another home run for this group. The light and flaky crust, perfectly balanced pizza sauce, and fresh cut meats make for a savory meal in anybodys book. I highly recommend this establishment for anybody, local or traveling.
