My family and I came to dine at this restaurant and I had the Mariscos Puerto Escondido. I did let my waitress know that I can't have meat (it makes me sick) and was verified that my meal is just seafood, and I did order a side of rice as well.
The pros : Our meals came in large portions, which I did appreciate and price wise seemed appropriate especially for a party of 5. Our bill came to $163.
The cons : I rated my overall experience and meal as 1 star, because I found a piece of beef in my meal. I was immediately turned off and stopped eating and to check my brother tasted it. I did let the waitress know and she shrugged her shoulders... When it was time to pay, there was different waitress closing out our checks and I informed her about the issue and she brought another employee which asked me what's the issue. I repeated the issue once more and he states "well it's impossible since we do not cook in the same pot and it's to avoid these situations from happening, there's nothing I can do... well the most I can do is give you 10% off". My sister went ahead to pay, and I took up a receipt to look at the restaurant's name and the employees laughed and mumbled to each other. One employee said "if I'm leaving a review to not blame either one, and the waitress to be blamed is Mia".
Honestly I understand that these things happen but don't treat your customers like imbeciles. What ticked me off the most is that the employees kept mumbling back and forth to each other and laughing in our faces......
Read moreAfter many times dining here and having mediocre experiences, tonight was the final straw and sadly we will not be back. Typically the food is good but the service is not, it is blatantly obvious that none of the servers have had any proper training. Tonight we tried again. Our nachos were very good and so was my food. My husband’s food however left a lot to be desired. He ordered 2 enchiladas and two burritos as a combo meal with ranchero sauce on all. When it came out there was almost no sauce on it but, no big deal he filled up on apps. When the waitress noticed his full meal there she asked if he needed a box (didn’t ask if there was a problem), he respond that he did but he would also need ranchero sauce on the side because it was so dry he wouldn’t be able to eat it without the sauce. Once she figured out how much sauce he needed, she brought out 2- 4 or 5oz soufflé cups along with the bill. Upon checking the bill, we saw that each little container was $2.00. The amount of sauce in the cups should have been on the entree to begin with and when questioned about the price, her answer was “yes, that’s right”. With that my husband told them they could keep the garbage food, and the overpriced ranchero sauce. He paid the full bill, plus a tip (more than she was worth) and told her he would never be back to which she responded “ok”. $90 for two people to leave frustrated is just...
Read moreWe ordered delivery from Cilantro on Mother's Day. When we called to confirm they were open (a few other places weren't), they sounded PACKED.
Our food arrived quickly, and it was FRESH -- and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken fajita (great meat-to-veg ratio, everything flavorful and cooked perfectly; and the corn tortillas were the best I've ever had, hands-down!)... Hubs ordered beef enchiladas, and he was in heaven (he said the sauce was amazing, and the enchilada was phenomenal).
Even the seasoned rice - usually a default side, y'know - was DELICIOUS. I didn't even have time to snap a picture to share, it was all THAT good.
Tbh, when we saw the name of the restaurant we thought it must be a bistro-type situation, and maybe not authentic... But OMG the food is amazing, and even though we had to use Google Translate (the whole menu is in Spanish, and I stupidly took French lol) it was WELL WORTH THE EFFORT.
For real, if you're thinking about trying Cilantro -- DO IT. We can't recommend it highly enough...and we got delivery. I can only imagine how awesome the food must be, straight from...
