Tequilero — Restaurant in Vinton

We had a very short wait to be seated as there was 2 groups ahead of us. (Group of four and group of 3) we were just a party of 2. Was taken to a table that had been cleared but not cleaned. It was cleaned as we waited beside the table to be seated. Our waitress dropped us off water but didn't take our drink order until sometime later. Got our drinks and requested a small queso. We finished one basket of chips before the queso arrived. After the queso arrived it was sometime before our order was taken. In the meantime we're were checked on, "asking if alright" three different times by our server, the man waiter/manager once and what seemed to be the waitress manager as well. So we encountered staff once to be seated, once for drinks, once for our order to be placed, 5 different times if "we're were alright" before I finally had to remind our server we were still just waiting for or food. We were told it was busy and our food would be here soon. It was busy indeed. Parking lot was full upon arrival. But, I watched the waitress check the food counter for our meal with no luck of food. I watched her realize that she never placed our order in the computer. In which at that time she did, without admitting her mistake to us the customer or to someone in charge. I watched her tell other waitresses and noticed her and the ones she told continually look our way. Our food finally arrived. After 1.5 hours or more. We didn't get our food as it was listed on the menu. She had forgotten the tortillas. But again when I asked her, she said you want tortillas, I can get them. I said nope, won't eat them anyways. My entree should have been marinated/seasoned being it was carne asada. Plain dried grilled steak. We ate it as we were very hungry. Got our to go containers. Got our bill no message of sorrow, no honest admittance of the mistake, no manager intervention. I paid the bill and we left. I lived in California 25 years of my 45 in existence so we know good mexican food. Food was extremely late and somewhat bland, chips left aftertaste in your mouth..(like unfiltered or dirty oil.. the bus boy had the entire floor to bus, as well as passing out chips and salsa to the entire floor. That's why tables were cleared but not cleaned. The male waiter and bus boy seemed to be the only hustle the place had going.. the two groups ahead of us got thier food as they should have, but also the 4 groups after us got theirs before us. it was my first time at the restaurant and it WAS mother's Day and I anticipated it being extremely busy but I think we had just missed the rush so we didn't have to wait very long to be seated mainly just to wait in the line to talk to the host/hostess to see if there's available seating. got taken to a table that wasn't clean before we got there and when it was and we were seated we weren't asked about drinks until bout 10 minutes after we were seated and that was AFTER chips and salsa were brought to our table and waitress left before coming back to ask us. ordering was quick, but the wait for food was so bad we almost left, 2 hrs AND our food was cold, I had to walk up to the the wait staff stand to ask about our food and I saw it sitting underneath the lamps on the countertop you know ready to be taken out and I saw three waitresses passed by all the food and it was full of food to be taken out to tables so I'm sure other people got cold food as well we complained about it we should have been calmed our meals and they didn't comp anything either is run by a whole bunch of teenagers because that's what it looks like to include kitchen staff or well that's the only explanation I can think of as to why there would be such terrible service like when I was a waitress if there were plates out we took them whether it was for our table or not definitely needs to reevaluate their staff and their system so I would not recommend because...

First and most likely last visit to Teqilero. While there was no wait time to get seated, that's where the not waiting ended. Wait to have drink orders taken was long, wait to have food order taken was long, wait for drinks to come out was long, wait for food was very long, even the wait to get napkins and silverware was long. Specials were not mentioned and when asked about the from what we saw on Facebook, the details didn't line up.

When the food did finally arrive, the beans had a crust on top that appeared to be from sitting, rice was cold to the touch, tortillas were missing for fajitas, appetizer came with main course and was also cold. Our waitress didn't come back to check on us for 20+ minutes. Manager never showed up after asking to speak with them about the experience.
