Small Town charm with big time flavor. There is a reason this is a Virden institution! Just wish you could get a double crust meatball pizza! I got the sandwich and then used the crust from my wife's pizza and it is next level.

Pretty good pizza! A nice salad bar, and some really good chicken bacon ranch pizza. I'd advise coming here to eat some home town pizza.

I've been hearing for a few years how good the pizza is here. Today we found ourselves in Virden IL so we decided to to stop in and have a pizza . Waitress super friendly and attentive. We ordered a large thin crust pizza and a one trip to the salad bar. Salad bar had a nice selection of toppings however the lettuce was simply iceberg. Chatted over salad and the pizza arrives. 1st impression was the pizzas appearance was nice. The downfall was immediately apparent to me. It has canned mushrooms and pre-cut soft green pepper peices which looked like they have been sitting in water prior to adding them to the pizza. I am really not understanding why a pizza restaurant would not use fresh ingredients, not canned food. Neither of us really cared for the pizza and wasn't impressed with the lack of flavors. "I really cannot recommend this pizza." We just decided to be nice and ask for...

I have heard about DiCarlo's for five years (my wife used to work there). I finally got to experience their food last night for the first time! It was AMAZING!! It's by far the BEST Italian Pizza I have ever had (the owners are from Sicily). Everything was fresh and tasted so good. It was completely different than anything I have ever experienced in my 56 years!! It total blew away any of my favorites (LaRoma's Pizza in Abingdon, IL - my favorite since 1979 and Brothers Three in Oconto, WI).

The pizza is great, but we also ordered The Lyndall - thick crust pizza with just cheese (a mound of their special blend) with their spaghetti marinara sauce for dipping. It was the best bread, the best cheese, and the best marinara I have ever had! It had a great atmosphere and excellent service. I can't wait...

This is a little hole in the wall place in a small town but it is HOPPIN' !

It's the only place around for pizza, and the crusts are made there -- no frozen pre-packaged crusts here!!!!!! There is a small alternate menu in addition to the pizza but I saw no one order anything else.

We arrived on a Saturday night about 5 with a party of 6, service was prompt and courteous -- not exactly overflowing with friendliness, but nice enough. Food arrived hot and as ordered. They have a small salad bar, that is also quite busy!

Toppings were typical, not overly generous (except for the cheese which was way plentiful), sauce a little sweet but still nice enough.
