Let me start this review off with I would have given a 5-star review for every previous visit prior to my visit last night.
Upon arriving, there was a line outside which is a great sign because it was cold and people still wanted ice cream. I decided to order on their site for curbside pick-up for myself and the two people with me. I placed our order and the order said it would be ready in one minute (placed at 7:46pm, ready at 7:47pm). I’m not dense so I knew that was more than likely not possible; I am fine waiting for service, food/beverage, etc but being honest is key - their site needs to be adjusted. I pulled into the curbside pick up parking space and we proceeded to wait. There was a group of probably 8 people inside so yes, they were busy for a small ice cream shop. Two other cars pulled up for curbside pick-up. After about 15 minutes of waiting and the large group leaving, I went inside to use the restroom, I was told that I needed to wait outside bc no one than two groups (there were two groups of two) were allowed in at one time. I said ok and went back to my car; I assumed that I was ok going in since there were approximately 8 people in before. We waited an additional 10 minutes, making the wait time 25 minutes total...for ice cream. Once the employee came out with order, she gave the other cars waiting their orders first (they arrived after us) and then gave us the wrong order. The employee realized what she had done, came back out to retrieve it and give it to the correct person (which is an obvious health code violation). She asked what we ordered so she could go back in, now making the wait time even longer. I asked her about coming in to use the restroom and she said “oh yeah, you can do that, I told you to go outside before because I didn’t realize that is what you were coming in for”. We finally got our correct order only to be disappointed with the product. It appeared that we had gotten the remnants of the flavors that we ordered. I understand that someone will get them remnants but with small batch ice cream, there’s ways around it.
Needless to say, I am...
Read moreDear Blue Cow Owners, Your employee Timothy Lemon deserves a raise or managment position. My husband, daughter and I stopped in at about 8:20 on Sunday night, and Timothy came walking up made eye contact with me and said "I got you", I told him what I wanted and then while scooping asked what my daughter was getting. He was so swift with it. Normally the other employees get the ice cream then turn to someone else in line to help them and then I wait for another employee to ask what else im getting. He got us all. (Not bashing the other employees because they have all always been great but Timothy had a very "to the point" "man on a mission work ethic".
After he served people he came out and started cleaning the tables, Like literally scrubbing any dried on ice cream. Thats when I told him he was an exceptional employee and deserved a raise. He smiled and very humbly said "that would be nice" and then I asked his name and he said Timothy, I asked his last name and he said Lemon, lemon like the fruit.
Then he walked away and came back out and cleaned the finger prints off the door and the glass from the ice cream case, very fast and efficent but also effectively. Then ran back behind the counter as more people walked in and started serving again. The man never missed a beat, like a machine. Honestly an impeccable employee, who cared about the customers and the look of the establishment as if it was his own place of business.
And I hope when you read this it is taken in to consideration that, Mr. Lemon gets acknowledgement and compensated for his phenomenal work ethic. Its employees like him who need to be praised and shown value. I myself am a business owner and I was impressed, and If I actually even had a position available at my shop for him to fill I would probably come back up there to steal him, fortunately for you I dont. Dont sleep on this man, hes meant for greatness and I saw his value in just the 15min we...
Read morePhenomenal ice cream but staff is exceedingly lazy. I am not exaggerating when I say I’ve tried to order a milkshake every time I’ve come in (spanning the past 6-8 months) and I’m told one of the following excuses without the slightest hesitation:
-“we don’t have milk” -“we don’t carry milk here anymore” -“we actually don’t do milkshakes here” -“we already wiped the machine” -“the machine doesn’t even work, our boss just makes us keep it out for show”
I’ve worked in the food service industry for the vast majority of my adolescence and well into adulthood, I COMPLETELY understand the urge to pre-close and occasionally tell a fib to get customers moving.
However, the times I’ve referenced have all been between approx. 4-7pm and there haven’t been more than 3 other customers inside of the store…I know better than to order a milkshake at an ice cream shop when it’s busy.
The ice cream speaks for itself, truly, or else we wouldn’t keep coming back. It’s just a shame the employees have decided to cut corners. There are two employees (the shorter girl with dark hair and glasses as well as the blonde guy) that I’ve noticed doing this more frequently than others.
I think it’s important to note that we used to come around 7-8pm ish but on multiple occasions, chairs were already flipped up on tables and left having to ask employees if they were still open because they were consumed by cleaning, all while awkwardly standing in front of the ice cream case waiting to order or be greeted by someone. On one occasion, we were told all they were selling were the...
