East Wok — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This is my absolute favorite Chinese food restaurant in all of Virginia, and outside of NYC, it is STILL in my top 5. The food is always excellent, No matter what I've ordered, I have always been happy with what I've received. I've never had a wrong order, and when I've ordered for delivery it is insanely fast.

I always get Beef Lo Mein, egg rolls and General Tso's Chicken. The beef is always so tender, my eggrolls perfectly fried and what I love about the chicken here is that I get more chicken than I do flour coating, unlike many of the OTHER places in the area where the chicken is questionable at best.

Also. I've read all the bad reviews, and I have to say that these White-ass Karen complaints are exactly what you'd expect from someone that has no idea what their talking about. The audacity of screaming about how Board Wok is a better restaurant. Board Wok was some of the worst food I've had. Right up there with Panda Express.

Some of these people probably think that Olive Garden is peak Italian food too. Please. Do yourself a favor and ignore those reviews. This restaurant is one of the very best for American Chinese food.

East Wok is a family owned restaurant and that is made very clear when you pick food up and their kids are sitting at tables or helping out and I think that is amazing. This restaurant isn't decked out with traditional Chinese décor, but that is just fine. I'd take quality of food over frivolous decorations any day.

Never really went to Chinese takeout because they're all the same but the 4 star review made me optimistic. Not quite sure where to start. The was the first time I've ever had a Chewy/stale/soggy fortune cookie. The chicken is pure white almost as if it's just been boiled, the rice is Mexican rice not fried rice, the egg rolls resembled a toilet paper roll with old veggies inside, the noodles make top Ramen look like caviar, and none of the veggies are actually fresh and they seem canned. Typically everything is perfect here as far as great food great service but unfortunately after 10 years of being a loyal customer I was told that I cannot have what I ordered and had already paid for to be re-delivered because they messed up and gave us the wrong rice. She said if I want it correct then I need to come in the store. And honestly as good as the food is I would have been more than happy but my wife had just left with the only car and headed to work.
