This Waffle House is located at the Courthouse area in southern Virginia Beach and is right around the municipal complex. I've gone past the place several times, but had never made it in there until my visit for breakfast on July 4, 2018. There is ample parking in their own parking lot. Looking at the building on the outside, it still looks new and fresh.
We made it into the place around 9:30 am that day and was right around the end of their breakfast rush that morning. There are a few booths available, along with bar type seating facing the kitchen and serving area. For our visit, we sat at one of the seats facing the kitchen and serving area since all booths were taken. Even though it was nearly a full house, we were served immediately upon seating, with the server coming right over asking for our drink orders as we looked at the menu.
After looking over the main menu and the two discount menus, I ended up going with the All-Star Special breakfast with a waffle, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, and grits with cheese. I'm not a fan of hash browns in general, so that's why I went with grits. It wasn't too long before the food came out, maybe about 5-8 minutes after ordering. I like the nice touch of the waffle where it says Waffle House in the middle of it. The food was hot and cooked the way it should be. Our server came back to check on us a few times to make sure everything was good. All of the food that came out was really good. With that special, there was more food than I thought it would be, so I was definitely full by the time I was done.
Overall, this was a great experience, especially being my first time visiting here. They handled things quite well, even with a full house (of waffle eaters). Food was great, along with the portion sizes for the price paid. This is definitely a location I will come back to. Check this place out if you're...
Read moreVery disappointed. I had decided to come to waffle house 5/1/24 @ around 7:40-8pm and before i got out of my car I have seen the people that work there was sitting in the booth. There was at least three of them which I kind of figured if there was no customers that was fine but then when I was looking closer, I had seen that they had their dogs in the restaurant. 3 dogs in the restaurant and not only that but they had the dogs on the table!!!!!! (Small dogs) The people that parked beside me, had walked up to the place and tried to open the door, and it was locked with a note stating that they were closed. The people I looked inside the restaurant and the workers just sat there, staring at them didn’t even acknowledge anything. So I sat in my car for a little bit and had seen someone(worker) walk from the back of the restaurant to the front talk to the people that was sitting at the booth and then come unlock the door just to tell me that they were closed to clean the grill and that it was gonna take a while. (basically stating for me not to wait around) so I had went up to the Mexican restaurant up the street and probably sat in there for 30 minutes before I had left and as I was passing this waffle house they had people sitting down eating like they were open again. This is the closest waffle house to me and i enjoyed coming here. Super disappointed and grossed out I will NOT be coming here to eat again. I suggest everyone go somewhere else to eat unless you enjoy dog hair...
Read moreThis Waffle house was the worse. First my toast was burnt and broken into pieces, why would a cook serve toast that is in pieces and burnt? Then my sausage was burnt, then she under cooked the replacement sausage it was cooked long enough to Brown but raw in the center. When I gave it back to the waitress and showed her that it was raw in the center . She asked the cook to rebook it her reply was "you got to me kidding me there is nothing wrong with these I just cooked them" then I said what did you say? If it's to much to ask for my food to be done then I'm sorry and don't worry about I don't want them" the waitress showed her the raw sausage and said the customer is right the meat is raw. After seeing the meat was raw she didn't apologize or anything. After that she was cooking eggs, after cooking the eggs she cleaned the pan out with a dish rag by scraping the crumbs of the eggs with the rag over the plate of eggs. I asked for the corporate office number and I was told that it is posted on the sign. Our...
