Tried this restaurant for carry out after hearing good reviews of the restaurant overall.
Their mobile web site lacked any descriptive information about each of the menu items. Booted up the laptop and checked out the menu and specials.
After reviewing the menu I called with a few questions and to place my order.
I had difficulty hearing the person answering the phone. Additionally, she was unable and/or uncertain when I posed my questions. After finally getting answers I placed my order. No total was given at the end of the call. I had to give them a cell phone number so they could text me when my order was ready.
I got the text message. Here was my first indication how much my order cost as this was including in the message.
I drove to the restaurant, less than a 3 minute drive. After parking in the "curbside delivery " spots I walked into the restaurant. My food was bagged and sitting on a table next to the hostess stand. After paying I took my food home. A total trip time of approximately 12 minutes.
We ordered the lamb lollipops (not on the menu or listed as a special on their website) and a burger with the BBQ pulled pork.
Both meals were cold. The lamb meal was properly cooked and delicious. The burger lacked flavor and BBQ sauce on the pulled pork. The onion rings (the employee recommendation) were tasty.
I don't live in the area, but the people I was visiting were shocked at the meal.
I, typically, don't expect take out to be restaurant style stove hot, but these meals were stone cold.
Until the Covid crisis ends my family will not be reordering carry out from this restaurant. They've failed to incorporated critical steps to ensuring a quality meal for...
Read moreWe went here for lunch Father’s Day. It is a latex free restaurant, takes reservations and has very reasonable prices. The dining room was clean, decor was earthy elegant and very cool. We loved the wood ceiling and chandeliers. It feels very intimate and cozy but they make the best use of the space with a variety of seating on two floors and an outdoor dining area. It is such a pretty venue with the little pond, fountain and small wood bridge, we are glad there is a finally a restaurant here with staying power. It always looks so inviting when we drive by on Pleasurehouse Road. There is a beautiful pizza oven and we WILL be coming back for pizza! Today, We had a little tasting party when all of our plates arrived because everything looked so good, we all wanted to taste all the plates. I’m happy to say everyone’s food tasted incredible! A guitarist/ singer Jack Colgan provided great live entertainment outside. I didn’t want to interrupt to ask the name of the gentleman providing back up but they both gave me a nod and smile for the Google photo. We were sitting inside by the door and could enjoy the music and the a/c. We waited about 40 minutes for our food but everything was so delicious, we quickly forgot about the long wait. I never would have thought of combining eggplant and beets but the spinach salad with eggplant and beets was surprisingly tasty. Two different servers tried to take our plates before we finished but the great food and ambience still warrant the 5 stars. We would prefer that take out containers be brought to the table instead the servers taking leftovers to the kitchen to be boxed so now we know to ask for that next time. We will definitely be repeat...
Read moreI am very easy going in general and will overlook small problems in restaurants so it takes more than mild disappointment for me to write a negative review. I had heard good things so I decided to try take out. I ordered fish tacos and an unsweetened ice tea. They estimated 15 minutes to be ready - it took 27 minutes. There was a group of individuals waiting outside the entrance door for seating - none was wearing a mask. I picked up the order for appx. $18. Not the most expensive I've had but higher than average for this order. The tea was in a small clear cup filled to the brim. There was a lid but had no opening for a straw. I couldn't prevent tea from spilling all over me in the car when I attempted to remove the lid. Turned out to be sweet tea anyway so I couldn't drink it. There were two messy fish tacos with fries in the dinner box. The tacos had mangos in them. I've had fish tacos at many different restaurants in the area and this was the first with fruit. They were sweet and had no noticeable spice to balance the flavor. The fish in the first taco contained a bone sliver that was about an inch long. Needless to say, I didn't attempt a bite of the second. The fries were cold and chewy and seemed to have sit for a while before I got them. One issue can be overlooked, two maybe but after this experience I will never go back. There are many restaurants in the area that have better food and are a better value...
