Wanted to stop by and bring my dog for a fun trivia event I wanted to attend. Did a Google search that said they were dog friendly. Okay, great! A couple references said they were. I try to call to confirm - always great to hear from the source themselves. Since they have NOTHING on their Facebook or website. No answer. Okay, well other references said they were, so Iāll go. I get there and get kicked from the front side (where the event I wanted to participate in was) and told to go to the back room, because thatās the only spot where dogs were allowed. Where I couldnāt participate in trivia. āThatās just our policy.ā
Okay, then put your policies on your website. On your Facebook. Or at least answer your phone? Terrible business approach, not providing customers with the necessary information. If you have a policy, maybe allow your customers to be informed of what it is before walking through the doors? I wouldnāt have shown up to the event with my dog had I been able to access the policy information before driving 30...

The ambiance is āstrip-mall chicā and the single bartender couldnāt be bothered- too busy to take a second to talk about the beers for new customers. When ordering a flight, the bartenderās ājust give me the numbers, HONā was both off-putting and sexist. Available beers were on the screen only, without any kind of written list or description. While flights are available, thereās no opportunity to write out what you want. Instead, heāll impatiently stand in front of you while waiting to scribble them on the flight board. Cute flight boards of 3 or 5 selections play on the pleasure āhouseā theme.

Pleasure House Brewing is one of the newer breweries to pop up in the Hampton Roads craft beer scene. They are a small operation down on shore drive but their beers a big. You can always come back and they always have something new on tap. If you get to talk to the owners Drew, Tim, or Alex you will find out quickly they love what they do and some of the nicest people you will meet.
Their busiest times are on the weekends as with any drinking establishment. Though you can usually find a place to sit or stand to enjoy your beer. You can bring in food with you or can order from restaurants in the area.
They also offer growler fills and crowler fills 32oz (canned and sealed beer)
