Pongo Boys BBQ is an absolute gem—hands down, the place to be for barbecue lovers! We dove into a feast of beef ribs, pork ribs, St. Louis-style goodness, and perfectly sliced brisket, and every single bite was pure bliss. The star of the show wasn’t just the food, though— Jill was an absolute delight. Her bubbly energy and warm, welcoming vibe made us feel right at home from the moment we stepped through the door. She went above and beyond, even surprising us with some extra sauce that took the meal to the next level.

The food? Phenomenal. The brisket was so juicy and tender it practically melted in our mouths, while the ribs were charred to perfection, falling off the bone with every bite. We devoured it all—no leftovers here—and left with full bellies and big smiles. Everyone in the crew was professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. Plus, they show love to active military and first responders with discounts, which just adds to the good vibes.

My fiance took me to Virginia Beach for my bday this year (Aug 2022) and we decided to try out some new eateries since we're from Ohio! And we had narrowed it down to 3 Bbq joints even tho this was our initial 2nd choice(the 1st choice told us they didn't take cash nor were they informing there customers that each customer was getting an 8% tax put on bc they are apparently paying more for something there serving?) Anyhoo I'm so glad this became our actual choice in BBq bc not only were the stay amazingly friendly but they had a great sense of humor when I told them the 1st bbq situation of not taking cash an the lady made me laugh when she stated we take all forms of payment! Cash, card, check, anything that spends🤣😏This lady made my whole day!! There bbq sauces were very tasty n different! Their baked beans were stellar, their baked Mac n cheese was super filling and the pulled pork sandwiches were super filling! We tried the Pungo Boys BBQ while on vacation and oh my was it good! I had stalked them on their FB page and knew what I thought I wanted. But when we got there it was hard to choose. The lady told me to come around the counter and the guy in the back started to pull out trays of cooked meat for me to see how big they were and to help me choose. We thought that was awesome! I just had to try a Dino rib and it was great. We also had brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends. The sides were mac and cheese, coleslaw and cucumber salad. Guys the meat was excellent and worth a second trip back for it. But that cucumber salad was the most awesomest thing I had while on vacation!
