My sonās birthday was coming up and I decided to contact Gateaux Bakery for a special request of individually wrapped cake pops for my sonās classroom celebration. In the past, we have tried a few sweet treats from Gateaux Bakery that a family friend let us sample of their milk bread, brownies, and cake. Everything we have tried has been delicious. The sweet treats are always packaged nice and taste fresh. So when I was in the market for cake pops, I immediately thought of Gateaux Bakery.
I had a hard time finding a full menu anywhere online, and I ended up calling them about my request. The very kind lady that answered couldnāt give me a firm answer about being able to make the individually wrapped cake pops and told me the baker, Ashley, would have to call me back the next day to confirm my request. I didnāt receive a call back next day, but did receive a call back 48 hours later from Ashley. Ashley was very accommodating. I requested twenty-four individually wrapped cake pops- twelve chocolate over chocolate cake pops with rainbow sprinkles and twelve white chocolate over yellow cake pops with rainbow sprinkles. All would be individually wrapped for $36 for pick-up the following week (at my request). I had to pay for the order in advance over the phone, since it was a special request, but I felt it was a reasonable request. Plus, I felt good about the conversation I had with Ashley.
And when I went to pick up my order the following week, I must say, Gateaux Bakery DELIVERED! Not only were the cake pops individually wrapped and separated by flavor, they were individually secured with a metallic twist tie and carefully placed in a nice box for safe keeping. I was also pleasantly surprised how large the cake pops were- about an inch and a half in diameter. My son was very excited about his cake pops and said they were a big hit with the students and teachers. I didnāt have a chance to sample one, but I was told they were delicious.
I am very pleased with Gateaux Bakery. They were accommodating to my special request, reasonably priced, and ensured I was a happy customer! Iāll be patronizing this bakery more often and highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time yesterday, and i was so impressed by the quality of their delectables š) Yes, It is a little pricier which is understandable as I can tell they use quality ingredients and you will definitely tell the difference In their products compared to most similar products around that have added flavors, chemical additives, preservatives etc.. Iād much rather pay a dollar or so more to a business that obviously takes pride in their product ( and you are also supporting a great small business that I hope stays there for years to come ! š) if you go you wonāt be disappointed- BUT donāt be on a diet! Lol For the Management if you read these- I rarely give my input on reviews but I think your business is worth it! Yesterday we bought the blueberry cheesecake, tiramisu, Napoleon, and spinach feta bear claw. All were yummy- I have a couple of suggestions for what itās worth š -cheesecake was absolutely Delicious! NY thick baked style ( I think?) but the ratio of cheesecake to crust was a bit unbalanced to me- the thick crust was great, but the crust was almost equal to or more In some places than the actual cheesecake filing? Maybe keep the crust that thick but make the filling just a little thicker? And the bear claw- yummy, but there was barely any spinach or feta inside? Hardly anything but the bare minimum thinnest amount. It would be perfect if you put in more ( probably noticeably more) of both ingredients. As far as the Napoleon and the tiramisu ( both are often not made well-and Iāve even travelled to their places of origin.) both were absolute perfection! ā¤ļø Please keep up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe like going to this bakery because it is down the street for us.We usually go there on Saturday mornings to get a croissant and chocolate croissant since we are french and miss home sometimes. The bakery is nice, we are giving 4stars because we have experienced better in France and we think some improvements could be made with the pastries. Croissant and chocolate croissant are not always fresh and crispy, but when they are they are good. We tried the Nutella bear claw and thought it had too much sugar on top, the puff pastry is a bit bland. I would recommended adding salted butter into all your puff pastries batters for a twist, different taste, add orange blossom water maybe too (see french puff pastry recipes), or go to La Brioche in Norfolk.
It might be based on personal preferences based on all the French Bakeries in France we went to, but ⦠their are the bomb and we think your Bakery has a great selection but each products can be improved. Maybe our suggestions are too french, we know we are in America and are happy to have an...
