Abner B’s Ice Cream — Restaurant in Virginia

Just okay. My husband was not impressed at all. I don't think we will be back unless there are some improvements (like fresh cones maybe). I personally love Carl's Ice Cream in downtown fredericksburg. They are definitely the best around but they are seasonal unfortunately. Sometimes you just want good ice cream when its cold 😆. Being from NY we know good ice cream and this just misses the mark. It's not terrible but also not great. Just blah. Honestly, I was just reading the reviews and the owners response to criticism is just rude. It's obvious they cant handle it. Good business owners would try and improve rather then isnulting there customers. If I had read them prior to going I never would have. Maybe just see what you can do to make things better..Accept the criticism and try and obtain a better reputation in the future. Or don't respond at all. It's a bad look. I wouldn't say don't give it a try but my expectations were high and I was disappointed. The establishment is also clean so...

Let’s be honest here. If you comment in any negative way true or not it’s noteworthy to see the owner blast people opinions. I read several one and two star reviews and all seem to have a similar sentiment the ice cream is basic and staff is less then helpful. Sure you mentor kids that’s great but it seems your not there all the time and kids will close down stuff soon as they can ad mentioned. Point is if people are saying something that is clearly similar maybe the 14 year business model is busted. Maybe ask them to come back and you are there to address the situation or offer something that would help them come back next time. FYI. Cold Stone Creamy opening up over on the other side....

I’m up visiting family and we decided to come out for a sweet treat. Abner B’d did not disappoint!

1st, as someone with food allergies, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have scoops available for all of their flavors. I was so thankful I didn’t have to ask them to make sure the scoop was fresh. 2nd, they allow tastes of flavors you aren’t sure about. I ended up getting a cone of the “mocha mocha”, and a pint of the “honey orange”! Both taste amazing, and I am looking forward to eating the pint while I’m here for my visit.
