I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic Mexican grill restaurant, and I can't say enough good things about it. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was vibrant and colorful, reflecting the rich culture of Mexico, which immediately set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience.

The menu was extensive, offering a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes that catered to all tastes. I started with the classic guacamole and chips, and it was clear that everything was made fresh. The guacamole was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and the chips were warm and crispy, providing the ideal start to the meal.

For my main course, I opted for the carne asada tacos, and they were nothing short of amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender, and juicy, with a smoky flavor that was enhanced by the fresh cilantro, onions, and a hint of lime. The portion sizes were generous, and each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors. My dining companions tried the enchiladas and the chicken fajitas, both of which were equally impressive. The enchiladas were smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce, and the chicken fajitas were sizzling hot, accompanied by a variety of fresh toppings.

The service was exemplary throughout our visit. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our glasses were never empty. The restaurant was also impeccably clean, which added to the overall positive experience.

In addition to the delicious food and excellent service, the restaurant had a great selection of beverages, including traditional Mexican drinks like horchata and a variety of margaritas. I tried the classic margarita, and it was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and the ideal complement to my meal.

Overall, my experience at this Mexican grill restaurant was outstanding. The combination of authentic, flavorful food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy a true...

I so wanted to love this place! After reading the amazing reviews I decided on Agave Azul for dinner tonight, while in town for work. Boy oh boy! To start, the ambiance was that of your typical Mexican American restaurant. The service was also decent. That's why I gave them 2 stars. They were not too busy but did have other patrons in the building. Okay, now to the food. The chips were okay but the salsa tasted like canned Hunts tomato sauce with a few seasonings added. There was no texture - at most other Mexican restaurants the salsa at least has some resemblance of tomatoes or onions or anything. Not this place. Now, they may have pureed it all together I guess, but the flavor and texture was way off from anything I have ever had. Now on to the food. I base my judgement of a Mexican restaurant on a few basic things - but mainly it boils down to the basics - beans and rice. To play it safe I ordered a You pick 2 combo with a bean burrito and beef enchilada. Now for what its worth I can satisfy my bean cravings with the likes of Taco Bell or your typical frozen bean and cheese burrito so I am not a bean snob at all. This place left me so disappointed. I could not get past the burnt coffee taste in the beans. Even after attempting to doctor them up with the tomato sauce salsa on my table and the side of sour cream that I ordered in hopes to resuscitate my meal, I was left with regrets on my decision to dine here. Next on to the rice. Well the color and look of the rice screamed decent - but unfortunately the first and subsequent bites followed the same path as the beans. The rice was so hard - like uncooked hard - about 80 % of the rice on my plate was like this. The rest was okay. I did not ask to speak to a manger or anything like that - because why? These are fundamental flaws, not something they could have fixed within my visit. I did finish most of my meal as I was starving and did not have the energy to go anywhere else. If given the chance to return here,...

There was five in our party and when we got there, they seated us and brought chips and salsa however, No one came to take her drink order. We were sitting there at least 10 minutes waiting and almost finished all the chips with nothing to drink and no one came to our table. There was a man. I’m not sure if he was the manager or not. He kept seeing us sitting there and he finally asked if anybody had waited on us and we told him no. Eventually a girl came and got our drink order and when she brought them she didn’t bring the complete order. So she had to go get the rest, by that time we were ready to order but she sat the drink on the table and then took off and we didn’t see her for another 10 to 15 minutes. She finally took our order and we waited another 15 to 20 minutes before we got our food. The people sitting around us had a different waiter and they seemed to be getting better service than us. Some of them actually came in after us and finished eating before we got our food. There was not enough silverware on the table and the waitress never asked us if we needed drink refills. We had to ask the person who brought our food for more silverware and refills on the drinks. We went on Sunday around 3:00pm and they were not busy so I am not sure what the issue why the poor customer service. This is totally unacceptable customer service and shows an uncaring attitude towards the customers. The only good thing about our visit was the food. It was delicious however we had to flag down the waitress to ask for to go boxes. Then we had to wait for her to come back again and then we had to asked for the bill. It was my son’s birthday and a big disappointment. All in all it was not a pleasant experience and I will think twice before visiting them again or recommending...

We were in Roanoke for the weekend and stopped here for dinner on Friday night after a long drive. It is set between a few hotels and seems to get good business from hotel guests and locals. The food was good. Nothing extraordinary, but good. To be honest, at first, when served with our taco salad, we thought we may have to order more! They were small. However, once broken up and all cut up, they were very filling. The shell itself was the star. It had been cooked in fresh oil and was crispy but also pillowy. The chips were good but not served warm. The salsa was great, and it had a kick! The margaritas we had on Friday sucked. They were green and all sweet and sour mix. That horrible pre made bought mixture. They were tart. I ordered "the biggest, tastiest margarira you have" as soon as we were seated. I hadn't looked at the drink menu at all, but trusted our server. Big mistake. The margarita was a disappointment. We returned the next evening for a night cap after arriving back at our hotel. We walked over and had a few margaritas after looking through the menu. The Patron margarita with homemade sweet and sour signature mix was WAY BETTER! They were very good. We had a large glass full of ice and a shaker full of margarita. With the ice included, it poured two margaritas. Without ice, the shaker would have filled the extra large margarita flass once.. We sat at the bar, and our bartender changed the channel to what we wanted to watch and gave us fresh, warm chips and salsa on the house. They do not serve white sauce at this restaurant, and it wasn't missed!

On our way home from vacation, we stopped by Agave Azul. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. The staff was also very friendly. The chips were fresh and crispy. The salsa was silky smooth and flavorful with a tad of heat. The menu had a great selection of dishes with very reasonable prices. I will say we did stop between the lunch and dinner rush. The service was a little slow. But the food was great! For lunch we ordered: Quesadilla Rellena: This had a great flavor, but was very greasy. I don't think we'd order it again. Agave Soup Bowl: My daughter said the soup was incredible. She loved the broth and chunks of chicken. Arroz Con Camarons: This dish was amazing! It was jam-packed with perfectly seasoned and cooked shrimp. The rice had an amazing flavor from the cheese sauce. Wow! Enchiladas Supreme: This dish normally comes with a variety of 4 enchiladas (cheese, chicken, bean, and ground beef). I asked to switch them to all ground beef. The beef was well-seasoned and juicy. The enchilada sauce was very flavorful and not too spicy. The corn tortillas were soft and well-seasoned. These are, without a doubt, some of the best enchiladas I've had! We happened upon this restaurant totally by accident. We've marked it down on our list of places to stop when in the area again. If you're looking for homemade food at a very reasonable price, I would highly recommend it.

First off the outside of the restaurant looks really nice. Lots of parking space and the area is rather clean. The building looks like an hacienda and definitely gives off an authentic feeling. Someone definitely took their time with creating the design. First thing I noticed upon walking in was the artwork and a large dining space on both sides. The restaurant just opened and several seats were already taken- the locals definitely know this place is a gem. I ordered the veggie fajitas and just WOW. The amount of food I received vs the price I paid is astonishing. I definitely was unable to eat the whole meal by myself and paid less than 15bucks. You cannot get prices like these now adays anywhere. Meal came with rice, refried beans, cheese and tortilla with a whole other plate of roasted veggies, a full blown salad with guac and chips and salsa! Not only was it enough food for both my partner and i to be extremely stuffed, but the taste was also awesome. Veggies had a good amount of flavor and chips tastes homemade and not greasy. Will recommend this place to everyone.
