I ordered by phone and specified I wanted delivery. The young girl who answered the phone read back to me my name and phone number leading me to believe they had my info on file which at first i thought was nice since I've purposely ordered delivery from there during the pandemic. Despite that, I still gave her my street address again by phone. I Placed my order like normal and was told it would be about 20 min (which is normal since I only live less than a mile away). After waiting an hour food never arrived. I called the restaurant asking what was going on and they told me that my food has been sitting there waiting for pick up. Frustrated I tried to explain how is that possible when I specifically asked for delivery and to my surprise the manager (wife) went on to defending the girl who took my order. She did not de-escalate the situation and made it worse by continuing to suggest on 2 more occasions that it would be faster for me to go pick up my food otherwise I'd have to wait another 40 min since their delivery driver already had other orders ahead of me. Without realizing it they implied I wasn't a priority despite already waiting an hour. Mind you my infant was crying in the background and I couldn't believe that instead of saying a sincere apology right off the bat they were more concerned about being "right". Seeing that we weren't going to get anywhere and being angry we decided to go get our food. I was told they would remake our food. My husband arrived there in less than 10 min and the pizza was surprisingly ready to go boxed up leading me to believe they just heated it back up instead of remaking it. To add further insult, the manager/owner (husband) decided to step in and tell my husband upon his arrival that this whole thing was our fault. The owner/male manager hadn't even been part of any conversations and then accused my husband and I of not providing our address. Bottom line, this place has teenagers working the phones and they don't listen yet its the customers fault...ridiculous. Once my husband got back with our food and told me what happened I again got upset and called back to speak to the manager/owner. This guy continued to insist they weren't at fault and refused to apologize when I asked for one and then had the audacity to hang up the phone on me. This is a family owned restaurant therefore this kind of behavior from the owners is beyond reproach. This restaurant will go out if business if it continues to operate like this. You've lost my business and I will certainly NOT recommend your restaurant to anyone!!! I would rate a...
Read moreIt is with much pleasure that we write this positive note to express our appreciation to Chef Filippo Cataldo and his wife, Christina Armetta at Armetta's Italian Restaurant (Daisy Reid Avenue location) for providing us with the best catering service for our May 18, 2024 Family Reunion. We reached out to Chef, Felippo in March and he didn’t hesitate to accommodate us. He took time to explain his services, went over the menu in full detail, assured us he would make the planning stress free and we knew that we were in good hands. He carefully listened to what we wanted and ensured he would prepare the food selections to our specifications. He immediately felt like family. A thoroughly nice gentleman.
Overall, Chef Filippo, his wife, and team went beyond the call of duty in preparing, presenting, and setting up our various food selections: Lasagna, Penne meat sauce, Chicken Marsala, House Salad, Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Carrots & Broccoli, and YES, baked Salmon Lemon Salmoriglio Atlantic wild caught too, to ensure our 40 family members would fully enjoy this event. The flavors were so well balanced in each bite. The food was everything we wanted and more. Our family members raved about their experience with Armetta's food, which was AMAZING and their wine selection (i.e. Lambrusco amabile, Pellegrino Passimora) HIGHLY COMPLEMENTED the food so, so well... The food at our event was a 5 STAR best great taste of Italian cuisine in Woodbridge, VA! These sentiments of gratitude would not be possible if not for the dedication, love, and care you and your team members put into each and every fish prepared. We are forever grateful for all the hard work and for welcoming our challenge to prepare a few dishes that's not part of your traditional menu. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chef, Filippo Cataldo not only for his professional, extraordinary, excellent culinary skills, but most of all for enjoying cooking and for being a great human being who serves everyone with a smile! Thank you for taking part in making our Family Reunion a memorable event.
May God bless you, your wife, and your team always!
In gratitude, Ines...
Read moreI prefer family owned small businesses, especially restaurants. Armetta's is a gem. The owner is conscientious from the time we walked in until we were finished our meals. She warmly welcomed us and asked if we were eating in or ordering food to go. Then asked if we had a seating preference and we could have any table we liked. As we were taking our coats off she brought us ice water and menus. She said if we had questions or wanted suggestions she would be right back. I asked for iced tea with lemon, my wife wanted just hot water with lemon. When she returned I asked her if the ingredients were homemade and she said they were. I then asked if the entrées were precooked or made fresh and she said everything is made to order and not from frozen prepared meals. I ordered the baked ziti with Italian sausage, a Greek salad. My wife ordered chicken Florentine. Just then a kitchen employee brought a warm sliced loaf of Italian bread and butter. I asked for olive oil and herbs for dipping the bread. I also asked if the calamari appetizer was fresh and she said yes. I ordered it and asked for it to be brought before the entrées. The portion was enough for an entre. The sauce was mildly spicy and had small chunks of tomato, onion and fresh herbs. Before we had finished it she brought our entrées. They also were more than enough for 4 people to share. I had to take pictures of the 5 page menu and our food to share with you. There was enough for us to take home. We each were able to have another dinner and a lunch from the leftovers. Our check was $34 + tax and tip. The food was unbelievably good, the service was friendly and efficient. The prices are very affordable. I watched quite a few Uber pickups, customers who were picking up their own food and I was surprised about the number of pizzas that had been ordered and picked up while we were there. I think that Armetta's is as good as Delia's on Back Lick Road. We live in Lorton and will definitely return to Armetta's soon. I want to try their pizza, maybe as an appetizer. I need to try more of the entrées. Armetta's goes on my...
