Bobby's Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

We just had a retirement party brunch for my husband on November 2, 2024. Our family frequently eats at Bobby’s bagels and we also take out food as well. In fact our grandchildren go to the Oakton KinderCare and whoever does drop off that day makes a stop at Bobby’s after dropping the children off. Our grandson had his first bagel from Bobby’s. So it was a no-brainer that Bobby’s catered our brunch.

The food arrived exactly on time, beautifully arranged. We bought a large bagel and lox platter, an extra large fruit and cheese platter, and an assortment of wraps. This was a difficult order because many of our guests are in special diets.

Nisha was the person who held My hand throughout the ordering process and she made sure that we had every one of our guests a meal they could eat. She was honest when I asked her if we had too much or too little food. She honestly advised us which wraps hold up better after they are made and which not to get because they may get soggy if it was not eaten right away. Brunch eaters tend to graze when they eat and make several trips back and forth so we wanted the wraps to stay as warm and fresh as possible and with Nishas guidance the wraps were great.

and Nisha wanted everything perfect and it was. She suggested what to put on the wraps so they were individualized for every guest who had a dietary restriction. We special ordered the bagels to be seasoned on both sides so that none were wasted. Most times people will only eat the side of the bagel that is seasoned. To avoid wasting any food we had both sides of the bagels seasoned.

We received so many compliments on the taste, quality, and arrangement of the platters that the food became the guest of honor and not my husband.

We are originally from New York City so we are very particular about our bagels, lox, onions and cheese and I have to say that these bagels and lox platters were far better than what we were used to in NY.

I had such a pleasant experience with the staff at Bobby's Bagel Cafe. They were incredibly friendly and patient with me, even though I couldn't quite decide what to order.

Let me tell you, their selection of bagels and cream cheese is off the charts! There's something for everyone. On this visit, I opted for the classic Nova lox on gluten free everything bagel and it was absolutely delicious. My kids ordered Barbie bagel and rainbow bagel with strawberry cream cheese. However, I already know that I'll be back for more of their mouthwatering nova lox. It was that good!

I'm actually really excited to try their offerings for our next gathering. They even offer corporate catering services, including charcuterie boards and bagel and lox platters. I can only imagine how much of a hit it will be with friends and colleagues. Bobby's Bagel Cafe is definitely the go-to for impressive catering options. Update: service has been a little better recently, so I'll give this place a three. Although, just fyi, don’t even think about eating here within half an hour of close. They ALWAYS close early.

I am a regular customer of this shop, and have been for a long time. Things that would never happen under old management—no iced tea and none being made, milk containers empty, no napkins, dirty tables, gift cards that don’t work, sandwiches made incorrectly, sandwiches made but left sitting behind the counter, surly counter staff (one in particular)—are a routine part of daily business. It was going to be 3 stars, because in spite of the poor service, the product has never suffered, but we opened our takeaway bagel bag today to find the bagel charred. To the degree where you can’t just “not notice”, you just have to put it in the bag and hope no one notices until they’re too far away to complain about it.
