My wife and I had an amazing experience here.
First, the food. My ribeye was amazing and my wife loved her halibut. A+. I learned from the owner (more on that later) that they had just revamped the menu with a new chef.
The environment is really cool. There are three areas - The bar area is upscale but comfortable, with multiple tvs and booths. The dining room is stately, with fun views into the wine locker area and through wall of windows to a charming patio area with a fountain, pergola, and cafe lights.
The service was attentive and friendly. As far as I could tell, The owner visited every table to make sure they had an amazing experience. He’s a great guy and he’s local (born in McLean, living in Great Falls).
Overall, I’m sure I’ll be back many times. I’m so sure of it, I went ahead and put a deposit on a wine locker. The owner is a sommelier, and he offered to help me stock my cabinet with wines that pair optimally with his dishes. Obviously, I accepted and am looking forward to many dinners here...
Read moreWe went there for a birthday dinner last night. The food was really great across the board, though I found the carbonara to be a bit bland, and the bacon was incredibly fatty in it. I probably wouldn’t order that again, but the other dishes were excellent.
The restaurant seemed to be really shortstaffed, unfortunately. We had to wait a number of minutes before anyone checked us in, and our waiter took a long time to bring water and bread once we sat down. We saw that numerous tables were left unbussed for 45 minutes or more. It wasn’t a super busy night so it probably wasn’t a huge deal for the restaurant but it was kind of unpleasant to see.
Otherwise, the atmosphere was lovely and we liked how the bar area had a glass wall to help block off the noise from that area to the main dining room. We would definitely come back and hope that the staffing...
Read moreMy wife and I love BRX. They are always friendly and their food is wonderful. It's hard to find a place with such a fresh and well prepared menu that isn't very expensive. They have a lovely garden seating area and they really pull out the stops for holidays. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because we have been underwhelmed by their desserts both times we went, and it took a while for our server to come back to the table after we had our food, which otherwise came very quickly. On our last visit, we spent around a half hour waiting for our server to ask if we were ready for our check or offer us dessert after we had finished our meals. (Though we never went without water). Despite this, we highly recommend the restaurant and will no-doubt...
