I have been a frequent customer at this Chopstix location in Great Falls and unfortunately, the consistently poor customer service has left a lasting negative impression that has prompted me to provide feedback. It seems to be a family-run business, which generally brings a sense of warmth and desire to support local small business; however, the woman at the front counter severely undermines that goodwill sentiment.
While I appreciate that English may not be the first language for everyone, it's unfortunate that the woman at the front is only one who seems to be fluent, and her choice of words and tone comes off with extreme rudeness and nasty attitude. In numerous visits, I have encountered unwarranted negative behavior from her, ranging from comments like "You're late" to "No, you have enough sauces" when requesting an additional packet (with only one packet), or even insisting that "your credit card is bad, use another one" because of a register error on her part during payment.
The unpleasantness in her tone and demeanor is consistent, both in-person and over the phone, which raises concerns about the business's future. It's regrettable because the kitchen staff seems pleasant and the food is good, albeit the pricing for Chinese take-out is on the higher side, making it difficult to justify enduring the poor customer service regularly.
I sincerely hope this restaurant addresses these concerns because despite the proximity to my house and the appeal of the food, the consistently bitter and angry demeanor of the woman at the front counter is a significant deterrent to future patronage. I truly hope that I had visited this location on her off days and that it's not her default temperament, since their food is good and it seems that the family relies on the success of this business as their primary livelihood. Read moreI had been on the hunt for an American Chinese restaurant near Reston that was comparable to Jasmine Garden in Falls Church, which sadly closed permanently sometime early this year 😭 With the weather turning chillier, I found myself craving decent Am. Chinese, and remembered a flyer I got for Chopstix a couple weeks back. I figured, what the heck? Their kung pao tofu is AWESOME - as is their eggplant in garlic sauce, and on par with JG. No watery sauce or excess sugar/salt like I’ve experienced at so many Chinese takeout places. I have a very high standard, to the point of unreasonableness, about my kung pao tofu.
Not only this, but in my delivery order I originally ended up with broccoli in garlic sauce, not the eggplant I ordered. I hesitated at first about calling the restaurant, thinking it’d be an ordeal. Not at all. The person answering the phone was friendly, caring and got the mixup taken care of, no questions asked. The replacement eggplant arrived within about 20 minutes of my call! This level of care towards customers seems to not always be the norm these last few years, so it absolutely bears calling out. I only wish I had ordered more! This will become at least a biweekly tradition in our house. 💯 “11/10 stars,...
Read moreThe atmosphere is very unwelcoming. Unfriendly staff that act like they are doing you a favor whenever you order from them. I called twice to make sure my carryout order was correct but when I came home, my order was incorrect. I called them to let them know and they had no solution. I asked if I can get a refund and they said no. I offered to bring the food back and get a refund which is when they said yes. Makes me wonder if they resell the incorrect orders. I didn't bring the food back for obvious health reasons and just dealt with the loss and wrong dinner item. Crazy to think that customers have to play a guessing game as to what solutions they can suggest to the management when an incorrect order has been given. Worst service ever and rude staff/management. I will not be going back as the service is awful and I'm not sure how clean they are by possibly reselling...
