Having moved from Arlington to Ashburn a few years ago, I've always been suspect of this Cava. I LOVE the Cava in Arlington. Full service Vs quick serve had me side eyed. My instincts were correct. I finally went in today. It was early so it was quiet. I walked in excited and was met with the opposite. I didn't know how to order, what to get, or what my choices were. I started with the spicy chicken pita and she handed me a card with zero explanation. I said, "I want it how it's supposed to be! I have never been here!" I don't know what happened from there. It works like a chipotle but they didn't ask me any questions. At the end of the counter I was handed my bag and a drink cup. $19. A few bites in and it just wasn't good. Way too spicy and nothing to balance it. So in an effort to save it I asked for a side of Tzatziki which I would have asked for off the bat if I UNDERSTOOD how to order. She said there would be a charge, then she told me it would be $3.95!! I wanted two tablespoons of sauce. A little ramekin. I declined, proceeded to take two more bites and throw it out. While waiting, the cashier approached me and informed me that both orders had been combined. Despite ordering a side pita for each order, I was disappointed to find that both pitas had been bundled together within a solitary wrapping. Upon questioning the rationale behind this decision, my inquiries were disregarded by the cashier who was preoccupied with a phone call.

As I requested that the pitas be separated, the cashier proceeded to handle them with her bare hand and transfer them into a separate wrap. This action raised a concern for me, as I could not ascertain whether the cashier had previously touched cash or any other objects prior to handling the food.
