The first time I came here, it was in October and I have to say the dine in experience was great. They serve fresh bread with olive oil, which will have you full by dinner if you eat a lot! The customer service was great and the food was amazing as well.
I first tried Zuppa di Pesce, which is like a soup with different kinds of seafood in it. The seafood was very fresh and the broth was well seasoned and was just the perfect combo. The soup was amazingggggg! My mom and I LOVED IT. It was something you don’t see very often at all, so I would highly suggest. The soup was just an appetizer for us; for my main entree I ordered the Pappardelle alla Bolognese, which is basically just thick noodles in meat sauce. It was pretty good, no complaints, but I knew I would try something else the next time I came.
Now let’s skip to last night. I haven’t eaten here since October, but we decided to take out this time instead of dine in. Well....I wouldn’t suggest it. I ordered the Fettucine Gamberi e Pesto, which is fettuccine noodles with shrimp pesto and the amount of pasta I received was a joke. The take out containers they use for the pasta reduces the amount of the pasta drastically. I had to make more food on the side when I got home because what I received was like a portion of an appetizer. When you dine in, you receive a large amount of food on your plate, so I expected the same. The pasta definitely was good though, I just wish I had more to brag about! Now for my mom’s order, she got the Petto di Pollo alla Fiorentina (she enjoyed it) and it was a pretty decent take out size. The container was bigger and she received the right amount of food, so I guess it’s only with the pastas which sucks. We also ordered a side of meatballs, and only two came in the container. We were definitely expecting more than that. I also wish take out came with a little more, not just what you order. For example, most places that serve bread will automatically add it to your bag when you’re picking up a take out order, so that’s just a suggestion. Everyone wants to eat bread with their pasta I mean who wouldn’t?? There also wasn’t any silverware or lemons as requested but it’s fine.
I will still be returning, but it will be dine-in ONLY for sure! If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in Ashburn, please check out Pazzo. They...
Read moreI visited on a Saturday night during the rush, and ordered the lobster bisque soup and meat lasagna. Both were pretty decent, a bit bland for my taste, but I understand that is to cater to the majority of people here in the states. Everything tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients, especially the bread! I was helped by Madi and another older lady, both of whom were very courteous and spoke with a friendly smile. I ordered my food to go so I waited in the car. When I came back in 20 minutes, Madi recognized me immediately even though it was during the rush, and quickly moved a coworker aside to reach for my food. There are two reasons why I have rated 4 stars instead of 5: I felt the menu was a bit overpriced, but wasn't too bothered because I understand every business has expenses and that location isn't cheap. Apparently, during the rush there was a mix-up and one party was seated before they were supposed to, so a customer who had already been waiting had to be seated even later. The manager then told the hostesses that they needed to communicate better, and continued to give them a hard time. Mix-ups happen, especially during the rush, and stressing out your employees doesn't help, not to mention it is not fair to them when they are obviously doing their best. It is also highly unprofessional for a manager to call out employees in front of customers, because it stresses the customers out, and just shows them that the system in place is flawed, which in the end is not good for your reputation. Also, a flawed system falls back on management, not individual employees. Treat your people better, and point out flaws in private. I hope this helps your business to get even better than it...
Read morePazzo Pomodoro in Ashburn is an absolute delight! I went in for dinner with a few family members, and we left completely satisfied. From the moment we walked in, the cozy, inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The place strikes that perfect balance between elegant and laid-back, making it ideal for anything from a family night out to a casual dinner.
We started with the Calamari Fritti, and it was spot-on. Perfectly crispy and tender, with a spicy tomato sauce that had a nice kick without overpowering the dish. They also offer it grilled with fresh arugula if you want something a bit lighter, which I’ll definitely try next time! We also ordered the Polpette con Ricotta, and wow—the meatballs were incredibly flavorful and soft, with a hearty marinara and creamy ricotta that made the whole thing so rich and comforting.
For the main course, I had the Vermicelli con Vongole, choosing baby clams with the white wine sauce, and it was divine. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauce was light, with just the right hint of garlic and white wine to complement the clams. If you’re a seafood pasta fan, this is a must-try! One of my family members ordered the Pizza Vegetariana, and it looked amazing—grilled eggplant, artichokes, mushrooms, black olives, and gooey mozzarella over a delicious tomato base.
From start to finish, every dish was full of flavor, and the service was excellent. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, and they had great suggestions for pairing food and wine. Pazzo Pomodoro really knows how to make a meal feel special, and I can’t wait to go back with my family to try more of their delicious...
