I enjoyed the interior decor. It's a mix of a modern farmhouse theme with wood and gold accents with an almost garden-like section that includes flowers along the ceiling and wrapped around a column subtly illuminated by soft ambient lighting.
I ordered the shrimp Tom yum, yellow curry with chicken, and duck ka-pow. One thing to note is that both the online menu and the physical menu say that the duck ka-pow comes with green beans, but the actual dish that came out did not have green beans. When I spoke to our server about it and she kindly had the kitchen make us a side dish of the green beans with added red bell pepper and basil and apologized for that inconsistency . Apparently the menus are old and have yet to be updated. Myhome Thai does not serve green beans when you order duck ka-pow so just keep that in mind. Great resolution and service from our server, she didn't had to give us that extra side, but did anyway.
Service is good. Our server was attentive and polite. No problems here.
Tom yum: not too salty. lots of mushrooms slightly more sour tasting compared to other restaurants
Dumplings (khanom jeab): decently sized dumpling. It's not too small, which I prefer inner filling is more pork heavy than shrimp. can't say much about the sauce since I don't normally eat the dumplings with it. It's a sweet and thick sauce with a bit of tang to it.
Yellow curry: good seasoning, good mix of savory and a bit sweet very generous portion wished the potatoes were cut into larger slices, but that's a personal preference. They tasted great
Duck ka-pow: not too salty, which is good the duck is crispy yet juicy, great balance here
Food, service, and atmosphere are all great. MyHome Thai is now MyLocal Thai (did you see what I did there? 😉), and will be happily...
Read moreI have tried to give this place a chance but after several bad encounters, it makes me extremely hesitant to attempt to dine there ever again. The first few times I've tried to come they have been full with extremely long wait times. I figured this was a good sign that the food and service was great and worth a try. I figured I would attempt to go on a weeknight when it's less busy. So as I'm heading there I call ahead and ask what the wait time is, the lady on the phone said it would be a 5-10 minute wait. Once I arrive, there was a gentleman in the front that told me the wait would be 30 minutes to an hour. I explained my confusion as I had talked to someone on the phone that told me the wait would be shorter. He replied with, "I don't believe someone would say that to you as we are fully booked. As you can see all the tables are taken so why would they say that to you?" I was taken aback by his comment and found it very rude and condescending. I still decided to make one final attempt to try this place. I just tried calling them to schedule a reservation for my birthday in 2 weeks and the lady responded, "why can't you do this the day before you need it?" And I informed her, I knew this place was very busy and wanted to ensure there would be space for our party in advance. She proceeded to say she could not do it and that a manager wasn't available to help us. This place is very beautiful and the food looks divine but the interactions I've had with the staff have been very unpleasant. They have terrible communication with customers and come off as very rude.
UPDATE: After a while, I was able to get a reservation for my birthday in April for 10 people. Stay tuned for the...
Read moreThis restaurant needs to get its act together. It needs an adult in the room. Hard pass. Avoid. Stay home… We came and were quoted 30-45 minutes and it took over an hour to sit down. We were definitely frustrated but then the comedy of mishaps following took it to the next level. No one came by for 15 minutes. The table next to us that was seated after us and waited maybe 15 minutes to sit down was immediately served. We had to ask for water for medicine 3 times. The utensils and plates were just plopped down in front of us for our table of 6 to set ourselves. Our appetizers sporadically came out over 25 minutes (not exaggerating). The table set up was insanely impractical- tiny round bistro tables with no space for the dishes and they piled up. Both after we had appetizers and after the entrees with no server coming by to collect them. But then staring at us blankly as they continued to bring out our food. This Crab rice dish labeled “amazing” and “MUST TRY” was maybe a 3/5. The angry noodles were good. The apps were fine. Nothing to wash it down with though as there was not a water refill. We had to physically walk up to the bar to get it. The list could go on. The best part was when we left there was literally a big paper bag of trash sitting in the middle of the waiting area....
