I ordered a birthday cake on 6/5 to be ready for pickup on 6/25 at 4 PM.
On the day of pickup, I arrived at 4:15 PM and was told that my cake didnât exist. They had no cake ready for pick up or even in process. Due to a system transition earlier in the month, my order was forgotten and I was left scrambling the day of the birthday.
The owner requested the information of the party and I gave them the location and time. I was told the cake would be there (pickup was at 4, the party was at 6:30). I wasnât sure how it would even be possible to bake or prepare a cake AND deliver it in less than 2 hours.
I ended up stopping at a local bakery to purchase a second cake. I could rely on Chantelâs Bakery to meet their delivery obligation on the same day they already failed to prepare the cake for pickup on time.
At 6:30, to everyoneâs surprise, a delivery driver brought the cake to the restaurant. The driver set the cake on the host stand, and put his phone a few inches from my face and asked âIS THIS YOU?â while pointing to my name. This interaction was just very confrontational and further soured my attitude towards the bakery.
When the cake box was opened, the cake was lopsided and leaning. The layers were sliding off each other in the box. It was just poorly put together and not maintained properly.
Past the looks, the cake was actually very good and that was the only redeeming quality of this entire experience.
For the price of the cake, and the extended notice, I expected a completed (not lopsided) cake ready at the pickup time. I shouldnât have had to panic buy a second cake because I couldnât trust a bakerâs ability to meet their delivery obligations. There is something to say regarding their ability to deliver the cake to the restaurant less than two hours later, but that was frankly the bare minimum. Had they had the cake ready at pickup, there would not have been a need for last minute delivery.
Despite the cake tasting good, I would not recommend this bakery for any occasion with a timeline. The entire experience was chaotic and unprofessional, and thereâs simply other bakeries who can produce good...

I recently purchased a dozen cupcakes from this bakery, and it was a complete disappointment. The cupcakes were dry, tasteless, and clearly lacking any semblance of quality. It was evident that they were either stale or poorly made.
Furthermore, the bakery's cleanliness standards were shockingly low. The place was dirty, and it was apparent that hygiene was not a priority. This lack of cleanliness extended to the products themselves, as the cupcakes smelled of reused oil and were frankly unappetizing.
I'm genuinely surprised that no health inspector has visited this establishment to conduct an inspection, given the appalling conditions. It's clear that they are cutting corners and prioritizing profit over the well-being of their customers.
Moreover, they engage in deceptive advertising practices, claiming to offer vegan or egg-free cupcakes to attract customers, but the reality is far from it. These products lack quality and are simply a ploy to lure unsuspecting customers.
To make matters worse, the customer service was abysmal. The staff was indifferent and unhelpful, showing no interest in addressing my concerns or providing any form of assistance.
Save yourself the time, money, and disappointment by steering clear of this bakery. There are plenty of other establishments that offer superior products, service, and cleanliness. Trust me, you'll thank yourself for...
Read moreYesterday, my cousin visited Chantel Bakery to pick up cupcakes we had ordered for our birthday celebration. We specifically asked the baker/owner to substitute sugar with monk fruit. However, when my cousin collected the cupcakes, they looked and tasted like cornbread, making them inedible. Despite this, we were charged $116 for 12 cupcakes due to the monk fruit substitution.
After paying and realizing the cupcakes were not consumable, the owner contacted my cousin and requested that we remove our negative review. We agreed to do so if an amicable solution could be found. Unfortunately, the owner showed no interest in resolving the issue or taking accountability for the poor quality of the cupcakes. When my cousin reiterated our willingness to remove the review if a solution was provided, the ownerâs response was simply, âLeave it up.â
As a business owner, it is crucial to be open to customer feedback and address concerns professionally. The dismissive attitude and refusal to rectify the situation are unacceptable. We essentially paid $116 for inedible cupcakes, and the ownerâs indifference to the problem reflects poorly on Chantel Bakery. I strongly advise others to reconsider patronizing this business due to these unprofessional practices. He doesn't deserve your hard-earned money! Chantel Bakery is a scam! The owner is a professional or problem solver. He shouldn't be...
