If i could give the place a -10, i would. I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had eating out of a restaurant. I'm not sure how long the manager has been in place at that location. But she needs serious retraining. Or she needs to be fired because she has no customer service and the food was absolutely disgusting, and the service was super slow.
On Friday august 29th at 6 pm my family had a party of twelve walk in to the glory days in Lorton, Va. And it was very clear from the beginning that the establishment was overwhelmed. It took the host a little bit to put 2 tables together to accommodate us. And the server that waited on us was clearly not ready for a big party.
When there's a bigger party that comes into a restaurant, typically there's at least two servers that should handle the party.
He took our drink order and we had to wait almost 10 minutes for the drinks. After he took the food order it was a very long wait for the food to come out. When my food finally DID come out, it was wrong. The server didn't seem to care at all about ordering the wrong food for me. I ordered the black-and-blue salad with a rare filet mignon. He rung it in as an eight ounce burger patty. My daughter & husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the onion on the side. She chose a side of mac and cheese instead of french fries, and his came with french fries. Hers order came with no onions and no mac and cheese. The burger was bland to the point where she didn't even finish it and the fries were SO over salted, they were inedible. It took another 10 minutes for the server to bring out the mac & cheese, and that was disgusting as well. Overcooked mushy pasta and bland as well.
While the rest of my family was eating their food I got to sit there and watch everybody and not have anything to eat. We had come in from out of town to visit family and this is the last thing I needed after driving on the road for 6 hours. It took the kitchen almost 20 minutes to bring me a salad with a rare filet mignon. I just don't understand how such an inefficient kitchen is run when it takes over 20 minutes for a SALAD with a RARE steak to be re-sent out.
When I asked the server to take my salad back the supposed manager who dropped off the re-cook was extremely rude. She placed the salad on the table and said in a very sarcastic way "You're welcome".
When I asked to speak to the manager about our experience I was astounded to find out that the rude lady that brought me my salad was the manager. She was Extremely rude and unprofessional. And she didn't even tell me her name. Out of respect for my party, I requested to speak to her away from the patrons so as to not make a scene. However, even my attempt at maintaining decorum was squashed as this rude manager continued to raise her voice and be extremely defensive about her poor managing of the restaurant
She was a short black lady with blonde hair and a huge attitude.. She didn't apologize for the mistakes. She just kept making excuses that the servers were new.. Which makes it even more confounding as to why a new server wasn't paired with a seasoned server for a party of 12.
When I told her that my salad was wrong and that it was supposed to go on the filet mignon. She argued that they didn't even have a filet mignon and when I asked to see the menu to show her what I ordered. She made up another excuse "Oh well, these are new menus that just came out Monday".
I would highly suggest you retrain your manager or find a new one before she ends up making your restaurant close. She has no leadership skills, no customer service skills, clearly can't train servers and doesn't know how to manage bigger parties. I will never go to any glory days restaurant ever again. And I will make sure to tell everyone I know never to set foot in the one in Lorton, Va...
Read moreWelcome to Glory Days Lorton! Where you reminisce about the glory days, of Glory Days!
I worked for 2 years as a server at Glory Days in Reston, alongside my wife, and this location is just now what a Glory Days should be. We arrived at 6:00 PM, and the restaurant was about 1/2 full. We were promptly seated, but then had to wait 10 minutes for our server to arrive. When she did, she did not even introduce herself. We ordered two diet cokes for ourselves, a ginger ale for my son, and a milk for our daughter, as well as our daughters meal (a hot dog).
Thus began our night of constantly waiting. We ended up waiting approx. 12 minutes for our drinks to arrive.
The silver lining in our meal was that our daughters meal arrived about 2 minutes after that, and she thoroughly enjoyed it.
We ordered our meals at the same time that our drinks arrived: a Glory burger, an 8 pc. Boneless wings (mild sauce ON THE SIDE), and a rib/tender combo. We also ordered the Slam Dunk Pretzals. We were still somewhat optimistic in regard to our visit at this time, but that was short lived.
During our wait, we finished our beverages, and our server did not acknowledge that we were in need of a refill. Other staff were walking by, and none of them asked if we wanted a refill. We were perplexed, this was not how a Glory Days was supposed to operate.
My wife had a view into the kitchen and was able to see the expo screen (a monitor used by the kitchen staff to manage orders and outgoing food), and according to her, it was blank. This has only 2 explanations: firstly, the expo staff could have cleared everything accidentally, but this could be brought back in moments, OR, all of the entered food orders were already cleared, meaning our order would either have not been entered, or sent to the wrong table. She kept checking on it, but wasn't able to read anything.
Finally, our server showed back up at about 7:00, and got us refills. She then told us our food should be out shortly and apologized for the delay, as "there was a large party seated at the same time that we were". She then vanished again.
Another 10 minutes go by, and she comes back out telling us that the kitchen was backed up and our food would be out in 5 minutes. We were very frustrated at this point, but endured.
Finally, she brings out my son's meal (see above), and it is incorrect. We said screw it, we had waited too long by this point, and he ate it. She then brought out the other two meals, which were both to order, but the chicken tenders were over cooked on the rib/tender combo. We NEVER got our Pretzal appetizer.
During our meal, we finished our drinks again, and when she came back to check in on us (another 10 minutes later), I requested refills again. When she brought the refills, instead of the 2 diet cokes we were expecting, we received 1 iced tea, which both of us don't like.
We requested the check and paid without even fully finishing all of the meals.
I pride myself on never tipping poorly. I worked this job before, I understand the pressure that serving staff goes through when working, BUT... this has to be some of the worst service I've ever experienced. I truly hope the management sees this and reads it. This experience is not something that should be happening at a restaurant that...

Our group of 8- to people had dinner at the Glory Days Grill in Lorton, VA. There seemed to be an issue with the server (name not mentioned) from the time we were seated until the time we paid the bill. Several of the orders were not correct and the server seemed irritated that one or more of our group decided to order only a small salad (his comments were, "...is that all you want to order, for such a large group...").
After several incorrect orders that had to be changed when they arrived, we had our lunch. The real issue (and this is what prompted me to give this review) is when it was time to pay the bill, we decided to combine a few of the orders since the server was having a problem providing individual itemized bills. I understand this should have been told to the server earlier, but it should have been such a big deal. This created confusion and after about 45 minutes of "back and forth" to correct the errors , itemized bills were brought to the group.
To make this short, I paid mine and 3 other members bill using a credit card. Other members of the group also paid their bill. I asked the server for an itemized bill for mine and members that I was supposed to pay. He presented me with "5" separate bills for the "4" people that only showed the total for each meal with no description of what the meal was. Again, after several minutes of "back and forth" discussions, the server provided an itemized bill for the 4 meals. He left me with the usual two copies of each bill (customer copy an merchant copy) and I signed both. I waited for the server to return and he never did. I asked another server what should I do with the signed receipts and she told me to "...place them under the trays at the cashier's table, and I will let him know. As I was in my car and about to drive away, the "server" came outside to my vehicle and waved me down and asked "why did you take the receipts, they are not for you." I asked what he was talking about and told him that the receipts were under the tray where I was told to place them by the other server. After this, he just walked away after basically accusing me of stealing.
The whole ordeal was an embarrassment to myself and others who witnessed it.
As I mentioned earlier, I don't normally write negative reviews, bu this needed to be told especially since I tried calling to speak to the manager twice and was put on hold both times without the opportunity to discuss what had...
