Okay, so me and my fiancé went to this Hibachi restaurant and you can tell that whoever owns it is cheap.
We left Fort Belvoir, a 15 minute drive, to come here for dinner at 6:30PM. We waited about eight minutes before being greeted by the manager. She said it was going to be about a 30 minute wait. Cool. We love Hibachi so we were willing to wait. We ended up going to Kung Fu Panda at 7:06PM and was not seated until 8:46PM. Okay, we sat and waited another ten minutes for someone to take our order. No one came. A gentleman waiter walked by and asked had we had our drinks taken. We (my fiancé and the rest of the table) said no. He pulled out his phone and took our drink orders. Another 10 minutes pass and our female waitress comes and takes our drink orders again. We all said, the guy just took our order. She said yeah idk where he went. So she took it again. Then she took our food orders. My fiancé ordered chicken and steak (New York strip) and I ordered vegetable fried rice. The lady (with a man) ordered a California sushi roll. Never came. She had to ask twice. Finally, our chef comes, after everyone at the table asked at least once where he was. He comes and he is asking, “Where are the rice bowls?” I didn’t think anything of it. So he makes the rice and veggies and then pulls out the seafood and chicken. Then pulls out a round steak (filet) and two probably 5 inch long, 1.5 inch wide “steaks.” I was in disbelief of how small they were. I know for sure the owner got a regular size New York strip and cut it in thirds. That’s how small they were. So I’m already like, yeah they aren’t getting a tip because they are already getting over on people. The chef is preparing to serve the rice and puts it into these shallow bowls. Probably 1.5 cups worth. If that. Maybe a cup and a quarter. So I’m like what is this. I immediately order a to go rice because my man is 6’3 and 250 lbs and Jamaican. What is this serving going to do. The chef then cuts up the steak. My man got about five pieces from the third of steak. We leave the restaurant at about 9:30p. Our bill was $54. I left no tip. This waitress comes over, points at my bill and says you didn’t tip the chef. I said I’m not going to because this service was horrible. The food, taste wise, was fine but if you rate everything, overall, our of 5, it was a 1 star experience. No music playing. No ambiance. Long waits. Small portions. No thank you....
Read moreABSOLUTE LAST TIME EATING HERE!! My family of 6 (4 Adults, 2 children; But only order 5meals) dinned here and received horrible service. The portions were so small, someone at else at our Hibachi table began to complain. They received a combination of Shrimp and Chicken and I only had Chicken. I received the same portion, for a full meal of chicken as my table guest who had combinations. Also, I am disgusted that the chef cooked the seafood first before cooking the chicken and steak. Anywhere else we go, it is always chicken first. What if someone at the table had a sea food allergy? The Chef brough out 2 SMALL steaks to feed 5 guest, portions. You could literally count the cubes of steak. He also used 2 eggs for the rice that fed 10 people. The math was not adding up. When we received our $147.00 bill, we noticed that there was a gratuity of 18%. I do not mind paying, but $22 for horrible service and no refills on drinks is over priced and horrible service!! So I walked to the back with the waiter, to speak in private and professional, she yells and states, "Its restaurant policy for any party of 4 and over". THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! What about a 2 parent house hold with 2 kids, you're charging 18% on 1 single family, that's outrageous!! Any other place, guariturity starts at 6peopleo or more. Finally, to top the nigh off, we told the manager he just lost a customer, and his exact response was, and I quote, "Ok, I don't care, I don't Care!" THEY WILL NEVER RECEIVE MY BUSINESS AGAIN & JUDGING BY THE REVIEWS THEY SHOULDN'T RECEIVE...
Read moreTerrible - wish i could give less than 1 star. We were visiting family in Fairfax Station area and my husband went to pick up sushi here about 15 minutes away. When we started eating I noticed the miso soup tasted like dirty mop water. Some cleaning product had gotten in it or it had gone bad. We threw that out and moved on to the salad which didn't have dressing. Gave up on that. The salmon roll i tried didn't taste wonderful but it wasn't terrible. As soon as we bit into the tuna and eel though we noticed they had spoiled as well. We called to let them know and ask if we could get an $18 refund for our lunch orders. They argued and said that we needed to bring the food back. I explained that we had a 4 month baby and now had to find something else for lunch and it was very inconvenient and asked if they could just believe our poor experience. It wasn't until I let them know we would write an honest and poor review for our less than stellar experience. Suddenly, the manager was put on the phone and let me know she was sorry and will process the full refund immediately and not to worry about bringing it back.
After two weeks I realized it was never refunded and called, left my information for the manager. No response. I emailed. No Response. In summary, please do NOT dine with Tokyo One. I understand sometimes mistakes happen but its how you handle situations with good customer service that rectify bad mistakes and try again. But clearly the $18 was more important...
