Food Buffet is really good. From the taste to the variety, you feel like you get what you pay for. The buffet is always well maintained, stirred frequently and has a nice variety of food. The buffet is stocked always just in time so not a lot of food just sitting under the heat.
The atmosphere is nothing really special. The decor is a bit out dated and the furniture is definitely weathered from years of service. However, the restaurant is clean, dust free and orderly. Nothing to really talk about. Definitely pay attention to detail cleaning which makes me feel a bit better. Nothing worse than sitting down at a restaurant to notice layers of overlooked dust or food or whatever and you can tell it has been months since anyone even considered cleaning. Never a good sign for me. But King Buffet does pay attention to the details.
Customer service is good. It is simple customer service though, some could perceive the customer service as missing. However, the customer service is just to the point. They focus on the buffet and clearing plates and doing refills without all the unnecessary small talk or interuptting customers at their table. I find it a bit refreshing. Keep it simple and keep it coming...lol
The food is the reason they are there and the reason for the customer to be there so not any small talk or upsales. Just a pleasent smile as you are led to your table, then silverware placed on table, then ask what you would like to drink and then quickly move on. They are great at keeping the dirty plates off the table and noticing refill needs. I have never had to flag down a waitress to ask for a refill. With a smile, they quietly replace your drink. No one is hovering over you as a customer or constantly asking if I need anything or asking if every thing is good.
Take out is really pricey. I am reluctant to do a take out order again in the future because it was just to much to pay. We paid $65.00 on our last take out order for sweet & sour chicken, Beef lo mein, chicken fried rice and 2 egg rolls. For me, the portions were not acceptable for the price.
However, going in to sit and eat the buffet is always on the table for our family because it is a well stocked and maintained buffet. And of course the Buffett All You Can Eat price...
Read moreThis is only a carry out reviw. We did not dine in so anyone thats been to a buffet knows that can be completley different.
Fried rice did not seem fried, if it was it was short. Rice very fluffy like regular rice but yellow and had the usual additives that you expect in fried rice. My daughter loved it, me not as much. It was good but not what I was expecting.
General Tso's chicken was good. It wasnt spicy but tasted like it should. Veggies were barely steamed and was really like eating raw broccoli. Overall I would say it was good and I liked it.
Chicken Lo Mein... my daughter loved it. She felt the noodles were great.
Chung Po chicken... honestly did not really taste like Chung Po chicken. It tasted good, but not spicy, and no peper flavor. Peanuts tasted like boiled peanuts and not roasted. If that makes sense. And vegetables tasted like they were boiled with the peanuts, even the chicken tasted like peanuts.
On the whole... may eat here again but will try the buffet instead. It was not a bad experience. If you have had bad Chinese food before you know what a bad experience is like. No running to the bathroom afterward or the upset stomach the next day. Food was good just not the best...
Read moreI am disappointed because I order teryaki chicken from King more than once, almost every single week!!! Anyone who orders delivery or pick up deserves fresh cooked food, not what's been sitting on there buffet all day! The first time they gave me cold, old, teriyaki chicken off of the buffet, I reached out to them and explained why this was wrong and to please cook my chicken fresh when I order but guess what, I just spent over 20$ on supposed to be fresh cooked teriyaki chicken but again I can tell that they simply walked to the buffet and packed me chicken that's cold, dry, and been sitting there probably since lunch!!! I love this chicken when it's fresh, but obviously me nor my 40+$ a week I spend on them is worth them caring enough to serve fresh food. I'm really going to miss this chicken but I can't and won't lose anymore money on cold, old food off the buffet. If I wanted not so fresh food that sits around for hours, then I'd order the buffet... I did give them more then one chance! Goodbye King, Goodbye Teryaki chicken!!! I will miss the times I actually had...
