Update 09/19/19: I called the restaurant today and they answered and are now open! We’ll stop by soon! 👍🏼

Update: 5/28/2019

Restaurant is closed for renovations. . .

This restaurant has made some good improvements, the food is still DELICIOUS! I DO RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. Be aware, this is a restaurant with a muslim background, they use the facility to pray while you are eating, so if this doesn't make uncomfortable, you'll enjoy the food.

Be aware that there are not enough parking spots, it might take you a while to find one. To go orders are also very good. First of all I want to start by saying that food was delicious! Good portion and great taste; however, I would like to rate other aspects of this restaurant:

Appearance: 3 star. Customer service: 4 stars Food: 5 Stars.

The place needs some tlc urgently! Location is not bad and should have a nice presentation specially as a foreign restaurant it should represent the beauty of their country. Customer service wasn't that attentive, we walked in and it took the guy behind the counter a few seconds to finish his conversation with other customer to take our order but they were friendly after all.

I hope the owners of this restaurant invest a bit in making this place look good so that customers have a...

the best meal i’ve ever had in my life!!! no question. i’ve never had Somali food, but after reading a review that said this is the best Somali food in the DMV i had to try. i road a scooter 4.6 miles for this meal! NO REGRETS!!! i would actually die for this meal, thank God i don’t have to so i can eat it over & over again.

i got the lamb & fish with rice & stew (?) tbh idk what the stew was but i don’t need to know because it brought the entire meal together. that and the hot sauce. i took an extra meal to-go for lunch the next day, but honestly i may go back again because i feel like i didn’t tip well enough for how much i enjoyed this meal. i literally cleared the plate. nothing but bones left!!!!

the woman who took my order & served me was so pleasant and kind. thank you to her 🫶🏽.

i could not properly describe the extent to which this meal healed me. i don’t know what more to say, yet i have so...

We had a great experience here trying Somalian food for the first time! Our entries came with a simple Italian salad (nothing to write home about) but also included a free drink. We chose the tea, which was sweet and had plenty of Somalian spices. The fish sandwich was simple but very tasty. The spaghetti and chicken steak came with a spicy sauce, and was surprisingly tasty. The main highlight for me was my sabayad (a Somali bread that reminded me of Indian roti) with chicken saqar. There was plenty of chicken covered in a nice blend of onions, pepper, and spices with enough juice to dip the bread in. It almost reminded me of fajitas. Everything was delicious, and the customer service was great as well. The staff came over to ask about the food and answer our questions. We would...

Gonna start with the good stuff - food was great, menu simple yet effective, and honestly for that alone I’d come back. The reviews here don’t lie in regard to that. Price wise this location is very reasonable. Downsides - service was a bit slow at the time, though our server (a lady who ran the front counter) was quite nice. There’s also a cleanliness issue imo - saw some bugs in the dining area and I know many people can get uncomfortable from that. If that could be fixed this place would be great and a solid 5/5.
