NOT FOR VETERANS: I toured the campus with my son recently. The tour was great. But we have been trying to get help with veterans issues since April. They said I had to email, but they wouldn't reply to my emails. Then I called them again, they gave me a number where I supposedly could talk to a real person. I left a message; of course they never called me back. Finally they had an open house and we took the tour. It seemed that it would be a good fit. Until we got to the lady who deals with veterans. All she would say was he needs his educational benefit letter. She wouldn't talk to him about anything. We have since found out getting that letter requires you to make permanent choices and he needs some help deciding how to make those choices. Supposedly the schools veterans person is supposed to be able to help with that. But that is apparently not the case here. We still don't know what to do and can't get any help with it so I guess he will not be going to school this fall...
Read moreDO NOT DO ADVANCED PROGRAM. I’m having a terrible experience with GMU. I’m trying to register for classes can’t even do it because it doesn’t think I’ve taken the prerequisites. Also having to contact the BAS Advisors is HELLL. I’ve contacted my advisor multiple times and she has yet to respond to any of my emails. I also applied for FASFA come to find out coming to GMU and registering months before semester doesn’t allow you ur full aid so I had to take out a loan just to cover my tuition when I get full aid.
Just go to NOVA get ur degree and choose a UNI besides GMU. If I’m not able to register for my classes because they’re full and because my advisor doesn’t answer. I’m going to be fuming and I will not be attending that school again. I just wished NOVA did a better job explaining the cons of going to GMU the school that gets the least amount of financial aid offers....
Read moreIf you’re considering going to nova, you’re better off taking an online course or going to any other campus than Alexandria. The advisors in the office are beyond rude and impatient. There are many language barriers so good luck trying to get someone to actually understand you. They lack urgency for their students, they’re inconsiderate, and it’s very hard to actually meet with any of the advisors in person. The professors are also the same way at this campus, very impatient, rude, and insensitive. They also make plenty of mistakes in their lessons and assignments. Alexandria Campus claims to be supportive of mental health but that is false. They don’t actually care about your mental state and even after providing information about any of your conditions, they simply disregard you. Do not come to this campus if you want to actually learn and...
