A friend suggested we give La Cabana a try for lunch. The server was polite and our food was fairly tasty. Both my friend and I ordered soft drinks which were delivered in an unopened can with a glass and some ice. The coke product was very flat and after a couple of sips, we complained. The server replaced the drink and the new cans tasted better. When approaching the counter to pay, I questioned why I was being charged for the can which was flat and not enjoyable. The male behind the counter was less than pleased I was complaining about the drink and said if I opened the can then I should have to pay for it. Really? I am pretty sure you have to taste it before you can decide weather it is any good or not. This guy was extremely abrasive and rude and said I should not complain to him, I should complain to Coca Cola as he still had to pay for it. That's his issue as a business owner and not mine and the consumer is a so called restaurant. I was very displeased with his attitude and lack of customer service. I mentioned to my friend that the place was empty almost the entire time we were their with the exception of two customers who came in just before we were preparing to leave. No wonder this place is empty, given the way they treat their paying customers. If this guy wants to loose business over a 75 cent can of soda, then more power to him and his failing business. I will not return, and I will be sure to tell all of my friends and associates of my unpleasant experience. Treat your customers with some respect and your business...
Read moreNow this is a true Mexican joint! Been by it a bunch of time and took the wife and daughter for dinner 1 night. Not a hugh place, but when we walked in we noticed that it was all like local Mexican or South Americans.. I belive the place is actually El Salvadoran. Our waitress didn't speak English and they were playing futbol on the TV broadcast in Spanish. This actually excited me, since really the best Mexican I've ever had naturally was in a little dive in 🇲🇽. She gave us a list of tacos they serve, everything from steak, chicken, cats, beef head to beef tongue. We ordered a few different ones to try. Everything was authentic and super tasty. If your looking for something different and more true Mexican dishes, this...
Read moreWhen eating anywhere that serves particular ethnic or regional cuisine, I count it as a good sign if the other patrons appear to be of that group, ie when eating pho how many diners appear Vietnamese. At La Cabaña, I have often been the one patron struggling with speaking Spanish. The food is delicious! I recommend the al pastor taco, paired with Jarritos. I am not a food snob, and am sure someone else can speak to the delicate notes and flavors that my peasant tastebuds cannot distinguish. La Cabaña serves a variety of lovely dishes beyond the tacos, but I can't help ordering them everytime I go. It horrifies me to think people might go to Taco Bell rather than this local gem. I am hopefully adding a picture...
