Mama Rita’s Restaurant and Pub — Restaurant in Virginia

Was passing by had been a long day with parents at appointments. Came from Fayetteville NC they wanted catfish so we stopped by here and let’s just say I will not recommend this place at all!!!!! The catfish was pretty good nice and HOT, however the chicken Philly was a miss and the shrimp scampi was 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 the waitress was ok made sure we were straight but was so long winded on checking in never asked how the food was, another family was there they ordered the scampi too and ended up sending it back. We were charged 2$ extra for fries that came with a meal and stated on the menu, the head lady say because the kitchen put it on the wrong bread it was considered something else 🤷🏽‍♀️ and would not take the charge off which was ok! 3.50 for a fountain drink is crazy to me and not listed on the menu! When it was time to check out it took over 15 extra minutes to do so. We had to get another server to tell our server that we were ready! It’s so many reasons I will not be back in...

As I was traveling home I saw this restaurants across the street from my hotel and as a pizza lover I knew I had to try it!!! So glad I did, I was greeted by two smiling faces Keira and Madison. As someone who had never been there before they made me feel like I was one of their regulars!! So as I waited for my food I was able to talk to them and learn alittle about the story of the restaurant of what it use to be and to what it is now!! Because of the great hospitality and warm welcome they greeted me with I knew the food was going to be amazing and it was one of the best pizza and bread sticks i have ever eaten!!! I highly recommend if you are ever near here stop by and try it for yourself you will not be disappointed!! Can't wait till I have the opportunity...

We were staying at the Comfort Inn across the street. They said this restaurant offers a 10% discount for people staying there. As we had been driving all day and didn't want to go far, we figured we'd give it a try. I can tell you, we were very pleasantly surprised! It was great! We both ordered the chicken parmigiana. Although not your typical way of serving chicken parmigiana, it was really good! The spaghetti was cooked perfectly, the sauce was a little on the sweet side but not overpowering, and you got a bread stick. Oh, you also got a salad with dinner.
