Great food! Go here for the food, because it's tasty! We really loved our appetizer, the Tostados de Tinga. So full of flavor and enjoyable to put in our mouths. I had the Carnitas Burrito and it was delightful. It did NOT taste like other burritos from other well known places, it was unique and delicious. Burritos can often taste the same because they are constructed from the same ingredients but this burrito was not the same and I thought it was very well done. Chips were tasty and their salsas were great. I don't know what they call the red salsa/sauce they brought with the chips (was also on my burrito) but it was really great. A very different flavor profile that I am having a hard time describing. It was creamy and tomatoey and really great. I guess this is a second location to their location in Columbia Heights. We were they only customers in the place for lunch so don't know how well they are doing in this area but hopefully they are able to stick around. I will say the prices were a bit higher than typical for the area but the quality of the food is also a clear step up. If you want some great Mexican, this is a great place.

The service was superb as well as the food. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I ordered a mezcal and was initially given the right one, but when I went to order another, I was not given what I initially ordered. I asked the waiter about it, and he returned the drink to the bar and brought what he assumed was the correct one. I again tried it and confirmed it was again not the same drink. It was then when the waiter went to personally check with the bartender, who informed him that he had ran out of the original mezcal I'd ordered, thus he wouldn't charge me for this one. But it took me asking for my drink to be changed twice for this to be informed to me. Had I not asked about it, I would've been made to pay for a drink I was not provided. On a better note, the mole enchiladas were amazing! I love mole and finding places with good mole in the area is not common. Nice place, but definitely needs a bit more ambiance for dinner time.

Fantastic! Wow! This was certainly a soup with a zing to it. The flavor was full, and perhaps it was almost too spicy if not for the side condiments to curb the intensity. Delicious tacos as well. Great ambiance and very friendly waiters. Fast service and good feedback; our water cups were never empty. The two sauces provided with the chips were unique—neither was the traditional red salsa. There was a green tomatillo sauce and a red-orange, smooth sauce that tasted incredible when mixed with lime juice. The soup had hominy, beef chunks, a stringy spice-line reed set, and some miscellaneous, wimpy leafy vegetables. Great flavor, despite the lack of greenery! Really did enjoy this experience, and I will definitely be coming back. Expect ~$15/person.

placed a call in order. The background noise was so lo loud that the lady couldn't hear me well. I ordered two orders of mixed fajitas, replace the sausage with shrimp and one extra order of tortillas. She expressed her frustration with "Oh my God" and proceeded to rushed me off the call. Did not give me a total until i asked. "Will be ready in 25 min, she said. I entertained the idea of not even showing to pick up the order, but my better spirit moved me differently. I placed the order at 7:48. I arrived at the location at about 8:15 pm. Well they seemed short staffed so I began to feel more empathetic as opposed to offended. Well then I didnt get my oder until about 8:50! Whats the point of calling in if the customer still must wait??? I faught the idea to just walk out and get McDonalds instead. The food looked amazing so I was optimistic that the wait was worth it. The waitresses were not hospitable and never said one thing about the delay. At least say " apologize for the wait." That's basic etiquette! To my suprise the food did not meet my expectation. My heat of moment thought" Am I having COVID symptoms this food has no taste!" My 15 year old son said dad this food dont taste like Mexcan food in Tennessee. Wow that a relief its just the food had no seasoning. In conclusion I am not satisfied. I give 1 ⭐. I wouldnt go back even if the...

Changing my review from a 5 star to a 2 star and that is being very generous. When we first started frequenting this place we were blown away by the delicious flavors and authenticity of the menu. Then gradually they began to remove some of their best items from the menu. Now I am finding that items still on the menu are "not available" when ordering specifically the cueritos which are the best I've ever had. I have to call ahead and ask if they are available before making the trek to route 1. One time my husband called and the young guy who is always tending bar answered and told my husband that they were not available. My husband convinced me to go anyway and order something else from the menu. When we got there I asked our server if they had any cueritos, and when she asked the kitchen, they said yes. Today I went again and the same young guy was there. I asked him about the cueritos and he said no again, as if tired of me asking about them ( I do frequent this place often- like I said the flavors are excellent) It was a little afer 3pm on a weekday and I asked if it was happy hour and he said not until 4. The website says 3-6 Monday-Friday! Not sure what is going on, but these seem like some shady practices taking place. It makes me sad to see such a great restaurant go downhill. I am reluctant to return due to the inconsistencies in the menu...
