I placed an order with Moby Dick through Uber Eats yesterday, and after seeing it stuck on "preparing" for an extended period, I called the restaurant to inquire about the delay. I was informed by the manager that the hold-up was due to no Uber drivers being available. While I understand that driver availability can be an issue, what happened next was completely unacceptable. When I pointed out that the app showed my order as "preparing," the manager then told me, "because you did not tip the driver." This response is highly unprofessional and frankly, offensive. As a paying customer, I expect my order to be prepared and dispatched in a timely manner, regardless of tipping practices, which are discretionary. It is not the customer's responsibility to ensure driver availability, nor should a restaurant manager ever imply that service is being withheld or delayed based on whether or not a tip was given. This kind of communication not only reflects poorly on the restaurant but also creates a hostile and unfair environment for customers. I was very disappointed by this experience and the manager's inappropriate justification...
Read moreIf you're in the mood for some delicious Persian food, Moby Dick House of Kabob is the place to be! I've made it a point to stop by every time I'm in the area, and it never disappoints. The consistency of the food is remarkable — no matter when you go, you can count on fresh, flavorful meals that always hit the spot.
Their kabobs are the star of the show — tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Whether you're going for the classic chicken kabob or trying something new, the quality is top-notch every time. And don’t miss out on their sides — the rice is perfectly fluffy, and the grilled veggies are always cooked just right.
If you're craving authentic Persian cuisine, Moby Dick is a must-visit. Whether it's your first time or you're a regular, the experience is always top-tier. The atmosphere is casual, the staff is friendly, and the food? Just amazing. Highly...
Read moreMobs Dick is a small (19 locations as of now) Washington area chain of kabob restaurants. They are moderately priced, with consistently good quality and fairly typical Iranian/Persian kabobs. My favorite there, though, is not kabobs: Moby Dick offers a different special every day of the week, most of the specials are very good, but the Cornish hen is just outstanding. Specials are not well-advertised, ask for them. As an additional bonus for busy professionals out on lunch, specials are served much faster. The only special that I do not really like is beef stewed in spinach.
The Herndon location gets pretty busy from noon to 1pm on weekdays, so it may make sense to come a bit earlier or a bit later. Parking right near to the restaurant is often hard to find. You can always park closer to Harris Teeter (or in the garage under it), it is just a couple of...
