It was time to get out of the house and go out for a nice dinner. This was our first time at Ozzie’s and given that all other restaurants in this Great American Restaurants chain are outstanding, we figured this one would be no different. Let’s talk about service. The service was a bit slow but I will chalk it up to the dinner rush. As all other restaurants in this chain, wait staff was accommodating, friendly and professional. We made reservations and when we showed 15 minutes early they seated us with in a matter of minutes. Host, server’s, and manager were all outstanding. How about the food? We were a bit disappointed because we had our hearts set on the prime rib. To our dismay, the server told us they ran out. As a disclaimer, prime rib is offered Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. So plan before hand and ask the hostess when making the reservation if the prime rib is still available. Our server was very apologetic when we ordered and she realized she should have advised us when she told us about the dinner specials. No biggie it happens! My “Crazy Lasagne” was flavorful and delicious but my heart and palate still craved the prime rib. The calamari was tender and cooked to perfection, and the pasta & shrimp did not disappoint. Both dishes were very rich and filling. I don’t know if this restaurant in the company chain is any different but all others offer bread and Ozzie Rolls with their meals. You can purchase the rolls- 4 for a dollar. Maybe it’s a cost saving measure due to the pandemic and that a number of tables were empty to observe social distancing. What about the atmosphere? Inviting and plenty of seating outside in the alley which was transformed into a quaint outdoor dining hall. Very creative and certainly worth mentioning. You have your choice of seating, inside, outside, or high top seating. Outside dining is on the closed off street/alley, and high top is on the covered patio or bar. It was a beautiful evening last night so we were lucky. Something to keep in mind when making reservations. Overall I rate my experience a 4 out of 5 stars, but I definitely would have given 5 stars if they had prime rib. I highly recommend, enjoy!

I visited on a relatively busy Thursday evening to try a couple of dishes I had not eaten on earlier visits. Great American Restaurants commendably keeps their facilities consistently clean and well-maintained. Service at this particular location remains efficient and attentive regardless of the number of customers. I ordered some bread to go with a chop house salad to start, a tagliatelle pasta entree with meatballs, some brick chicken with vegetables instead of mashed potatoes, and finally the tiramisu dessert to finish. Appetizer salads are both a good portion consistently well dressed without being over dressed. Ozzie rolls are rewarding as a snack while waiting for food to arrive although I do wonder whether mine could have been a tad warmer. The tagliatelle portion had a good balance of sauce to pasta and cut just right with a fork. Meatballs likewise cut well and had good flavor and felt relatively moist. The chicken that followed was cooked properly and had the right amount of demi glacé which I would have liked a little less reduced for my taste. Vegetables were cooked well that I wish I had a spear or two more of the asparagus that substituted for mashed potatoes as ordered. Finally the riff on tiramisu struck me despite the appearance as more cream forward than other versions, leaving the coffee and chocolate flavors less pronounced as I ate. The generously portioned cake had a good texture and nevertheless was enjoyable even with cream seemingly in three forms on the dish. The bill totaled $65 excluding tax and tip which all considered seems a good value for the area and times. I will be visited again in the near future and will be bringing others to sample a couple of sandwiches (the prime rib sandwich as one example while pricy does come close to being worth the cost) and maybe another entree with me. All in all a good visit which did nothing to dissuade me from keeping on my list of tried-and-true places in the Fairfax area.

Let me start by saying 10/10!!!! When my girlfriend and I walked in it was a little busy which is expected for a Saturday evening. We had to sit at the bar but as soon as we sat down we were greeted immediately and was handed menus. We ordered our drinks (Margaritas to be exact), they were really good 10/10. They were strong enough to give you a buzz, so imagine if you had three or four (I’m not a lightweight btw). The bread was brought out to us and those rolls with the butter!! 10/10 Texas Roadhouse might have some competition. We ordered the Tex mex egg rolls…. 9/10 that sauce is everything! I got salmon with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes and she got the French dip sanwhich. The salmon 12/10, I’ve NEVER had salmon that good, cooked to perfection and not dry and seasoned VERY well had a nice smoked flavor and wasn’t too salty. The mash potatoes was okay nothing special fr. Them brussel sprouts… GIRL 10/10 might have been the best thing besides the salmon. I didn’t really care for the French dip sandwich, but it was still pretty good 7.5/10. We got bread pudding to go. First of all the creativity, they use Bundt pans for them. I will say I’ve had better but I also ate it a day later and it still was a 9/10. Ohhhh and let me mention that the food came out QUICK!!! So overall food, service, quickness ate down. 10/10 please go try this place. It is a little expensive but it’s pretty much worth it. You pay for quality and quantity and yeahhh it gave what it needed to.

As part of the 'Great American Restuarant' group, Ozzie's Good Eats food options are strikingly similar if not all the same compared to Sweetwater, Artie's, Jackson's Fine Eats menu. It's only recent where nearly all menu items and cocktails seems to look and taste the same. All these restaurants seem to have shed their individual food identities. Ordered the ribeye entrees since it costs about 60% less compared to Ruth Chris or Morton's prime grade steaks. Even though Ozzie's steak is certainly not USDA prime grade, it's the only steak available during lunch time as all the prime steakhouses only offer steak during dinner time. For $44, ribeye plate with mashed potato and broccolini sides, there's not much to complain or praise (except for the sauce). The overpowering sauce was cloyingly sweet and pretty much drenched the steak. In fact, I could barely taste any beef or char grill flavor at all. The steak entree came out fast and is cooked to medium perfection. Ozzie's par-cooking steak process seem very well perfected. In fact, the steak came out so fast, the fried calamari appetizer didn't even come - which we cancelled in the end. Wanted to go for dessert but the options were not impressive. For good old fashion run-of-the-mill American food cravings, you cannot go wrong here. Paired with traditional wait-table service, the typical multi-course meal will always convey an overwhelming sense of inflation regardless of what is ordered.

My family and I used to come here during birthdays and family events but I think due to the last visit this will be the last time we'll be visiting Ozzie's. The pasta felt like it was premade half an hour to an hour ago and chicken was beyond dry inside. The steak was burnt the first time so we had to send it back if it weren't for the manager's intervention, we would've left. The only saving grace about the food is the salad. Sigh. I really liked it because it was the only decent place where we could enjoy the food before we went to the movie theater to watch a movie with my family but now I have to either go to Tyson's corner or Woodbridge. To management; thank you for the offers you did for food but please next time check what your cooks/servers are doing so that way there isn't another customer that gets a burnt $20-30 steak on the table and ruins their day. For me, it was my parents birthday. My parents didn't want to come here but I convinced them so and now they don't like the Great American restaurant chain because of this.

If you're looking for a restaurant with excellent, efficient and friendly, professional service, with food that's bursting with flavor, definitely check this place out for lunch or dinner! There are so many options on the menu, there's sure to be something for everyone. I got the pasta primavera, and it was so light and fresh in this summer heat. I'm telling you it was seasoned just right. The chicken was so tender and the pasta perfectly al dente. My sister had the brick chicken which was charred just right. The sauce was something else!! We finished off the evening with the tiramisu hoho, which was delicate and fluffy, served with vanilla ice cream and coffee beans. The dessert was big enough to share!! I also tried the lemoncello martini and it tasted so good. The wait staff was friendly, kind, and extremely professional. The restaurant ran like a well oiled machine. The vibe/atmosphere was also lovely, with beautiful booths and elegant decor, with a view of the open kitchen. I wish I lived here so I could go here all the time!
