My girlfriend and I have been going to Roy's for years. We have always had a great experience there.....but it seems like things have changed a bit recently.
We usually go to Roy's on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for a late lunch or early dinner. A couple months back we got there right about 3:30. About 5 minutes later while we were waiting for our food, two gentlemen walked up...the lady that took our order told them they were closed. One of the gentlemen said it's not 4:00. She said, yes we close at 4:00 and wouldn't take their order. Me and my girlfriend just looked at each other and took notice.
Yesterday (March 15, 2025) knowing they want to get out of there at 4:00, we got there at about 3:20. This time my girlfriend ordered a vanilla milkshake. The lady told us the shake machine was already down as they were closing at 4:00.
I'm sorry, I just don't get it. If you don't want to serve customers..... then why open your doors at all? If you're not going to be open the hours you post.......why post them!?!
I really don't know if there has been a change in management or ownership. But I do know this, the people working on the weekends don't understand that the reason they have a job is to make that business money. Turning away customers ain't getting that done!
BTW, we went to Sonic.....which not as good of a burger, but my girl got her vanilla shake. And instead of costing us almost $30 (because Roy's has got that tip thing going on!), it cost us only $22.
Do better Roy's....you have a legacy...

Letâs talk breakfast sandwiches first. Theyâre simple, fresh, and packed with flavor. Whether youâre grabbing a bacon, egg & cheese or going for sausage, they donât skimp on quality or portion. Itâs the perfect way to start your day hearty, hot, and made with care. Today I had a chicken egg bacon and cheese sandwich with onions and pickles. It was absolutely delicious!
Now, the burgers... unreal. Juicy, perfectly seasoned patties, classic toppings, toasted buns â they keep it old school and thatâs what makes them so good. Every bite is the definition of satisfaction. Add some crinkle fries tater tots or onion rings on the side and youâve got yourself a serious meal.
And you cannot leave without trying one of their milkshakes. Creamy, thick, and full of real flavor itâs the cherry on top of the whole experience. Whether you go for vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry, itâs like a throwback to the golden age of diners.
Royâs Big Burger isnât just a place to eat â itâs a whole vibe. Great service, fast food made fresh, and a down-to-earth local feel that keeps people coming back. 10/10 recommend. One visit and...
Read moreI have been going to Roy's for 50 years. I have gone through different management, the threat of it being closed, etc. Over the years the burgers are becoming so small, there is no such thing as a HOT burger, unless you get a double or triple. The straw that broke this camels back was this week. I walked up to the window, the only customer there, it was literally 14* outside. I was doing all I could to stay out of the wind and stay warm. A man, I assume was an owner, mgr, or even one of the employees love interest. In any case, my burgers were in the bag ready to be handed out, and my fries were being bagged, when all of the sudden, one of the work staff, took the remaining fries and gave it to the man in a hot dog container. Then preceded to put salt, then he requested ketchup...ALL THIS TIME WHILE I AM STANDING IN FREEZING ASS WEATHER. Needless to say, the burgers were cold.....AS USUAL! With all the lettuce, tomato, onion and bun, the 1/8 quarter burger is cold because of the fixings. GO BACK TO THE REAL 1/4 POUNDER AND BE courteous OF PEOPLE STANDING IN FREEZING WEATHER! I'm disgusted with this place!!!! I think I will just go 3 blocks up the street to Carytown Burger and fries. You might pay a buck or two more, but At least you get customer service there, and don't have food flung out the...
