Went with my parents last night. Was a good amount of people packed in there, had to do a little shimmying to get by but it did not feel crowded at our table. Neat decor, very friendly and helpful waitress- we all were in between two dishes and she helped us choose. I got crab Mac n cheese with Caesar salad and a pink starburst drink. Drink was DELICIOUS, I saw the 2oz pour warning on the menu but figured that wasn't the case with this one... Until I got halfway through it. Tastes exactly like a pink starburst and really could not taste any alcohol, very very smooth. I was a little worried when I got the Caesar salad as it was pretty basic, just lettuce, croutons (a little too toasted for my taste), and some shaved cheese that I feel could have been a little better quality. The dressing was ok, probably a notch above anything you'd get at the grocery store but not quite what I expected from here. My mom got the garden salad and that looked pretty good so I'll get that next time. Crab Mac n cheese looked like it was a smaller serving but there was a LOT packed into that ramekin! It was straight up incredible, perfect crabby taste and delicious cheese. They did NOT skimp on the crabmeat either, and there was not even the slightest trace of any tiny shell pieces- not sure I've ever had crabmeat at a restaurant without at least one little tiny piece. That always wrecks my appetite and enjoyment of the meal but they did a literally perfect job of weeding that out, super impressed. The garlic bread was awesome too. My mom got the andouille sausage and shrimp pasta and the bite I tried was insanely good, really great flavor and sauce consistency, with a little heat. My dad got the pork tenderloin and I tried a little bite of that too. It was so tender, and the sauce was very tasty but not overpowering. Overall I was super impressed and while I wasn't too pumped about the Caesar salad, literally EVERYTHING else...

This place is delicious, DAYYUM!!! I got 3 mozzeralla sticks with the 'sailor sandwich' (pastrami with Jewish knockwurst) + mayo, and this meal had my mouth dancing with more joy than a tap-dancing lemur! Splendid!

Customer-service was rocking too: I was treated by none other than Finnish legend Elias and he delivered the customer service of a life time!!! Would deffo recommend this place, especially at sunset (for obvious reasons), to anyone who wants good quality food.

Only possible downsides was that some of my homeboys had semi misjudged cooks of their steaks. For example, one steak was more medium than medium-rare. I honestly don't really know the difference but just to give room for improvement for the folks taking the time to read this review. I also am not a bar-boy (a boy that likes the vibes of the bar), so that COULD be off-putting to the average, religious Muslim - but we sat table so that gave me a peace of mind.

Oh and adding some Sri Lankan themed foods to the menu wouldn't hurt, but that's my 2 cents. Overall I loved this place though and I can't wait to come back to try more menu items, I just need my new job to get me working and deliver me...

This place could go from mediocre to top-notch with a different owner. The bartenders need training in promptness, better attention to bar patrons, how to smile, and how to initially greet customers. But I don’t blame them. It’s management. It’s always management.

We live close by but rarely visit to because of these problems. They mainly attract a much older, slightly well-heeled clientele but don’t seem to be interested in doing anything to better this place.

But the dealbreaker is the conversation I overheard this week. Apparently the female owner allows a certain boisterous, drunken oaf to harass and verbally belittle the female waitstaff at will. He was allegedly “removed” this past week but is a friend of her husband’s, hence he is not barred from the restaurant. He is still allowed to come in, and he will continue to get drunk, tip little to no money, and harass the staff. His behavior and you ignoring it is inexcusable, and as a former restaurant worker and retired LEO, I find your behavior devoid of any type of...

At the end of West Broad Street, as it turns into Broad Street Road and begins its long journey to Ohio, there is the westernmost bar in Richmond. The Sunset Grill. A place where the farmers of Goochland rub elbows with the lawyers and accounts of Henrico. All around a well apportioned bar in the front, with white table cloth tables in the back. The bar is in and of itself a perfect metaphor for the area in which it is located. Even better, it's actually a grill. The burger ordered on their Monday burger night had the grill marks and char you would expect. Even better they use Dukes Mayo. Only a truly self aware Richmond Bar offers Dukes, and it's a sign of quality. I went back a few weeks later for another happy hour special, the shrimp, and again enjoyed it immensely. The staff were always great the ambiance of the bar area was electric. People come here for a good time, and they find it. Good food, good drinks. What more can you ask for?

We arrived around noon on a Sunday in February. We were greeted promptly and were allowed to pick our own table. It was fairly busy but there were several tables open. It is deceiving from the exterior, because it’s actually a nice ambience with, by gosh, real tablecloths. There is a nice bar area and then a couple of separate areas with tables. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. Service was good and the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. For lunch, my spouse ordered the Sailor sandwich, and I ordered the Cuban. The Sailor came stuffed with pastrami, knockwurst and baby swiss on rye. The Cuban had slow roasted pulled pork, Virginia pit ham, smoked provolone, dill pickles and dijonnaise. Both were tasty but the Sailor was the winner – that knockwurst knocked it out of the park! The french fries were lightly breaded, and they were hot and delicious. Prices are average for the area. Highly recommend!

Overall, everything was very solid. The food was good, and the service was as well. We had a large party and called ahead for seating. They took some tables in the walk through, pulled them out, and together to make seating for us. The only issue was that everyone had to walk through there, and it made it 1/2 as wide, so people were constantly buying into our chairs. The tables were small, so I actually ate my meal on my lap to make room for others. They do have a good-sized bar area, one covered outdoor and one not. Think it was burger night when we went, which was a pretty good deal. We have eaten here a few times and usually everything is good. Does get busy. Sometimes they even have live music, least they used too.
