Tony's NY Pizza is a slice of heaven for those in search of authentic, mouthwatering pizza and a myriad of Italian delights. This isn't just a pizza shop; it's a taste of New York's pizza tradition with a side trip to Italy, all without leaving Fairfax. With great service and a casual, welcoming vibe, Tony's invites you to kick back, relax, and prepare your taste buds for a journey they won't soon forget.
Our pizza pilgrimage began with the Margherita Special, a testament to the power of simplicity. With fresh tomato sauce, sumptuous fresh mozzarella, a drizzle of olive oil, and a sprinkle of basil, this pizza is a love letter to Naples. Each bite is a reminder that when it comes to pizza, sometimes less truly is more.
Next up, the Sicilian-style Tony's Special took us on a detour to the bustling streets of Palermo. Loaded with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions, this thick, square-cut masterpiece is as hearty as it is delicious. It's the kind of pizza that doesn't just fill your stomach; it warms your soul.
For the carnivores among us, the Meat Lovers pizza is a dream come true. Pepperoni, sausage, ham, beef, and bacon come together in a carnivalesque celebration of all things meat. It's a meaty marvel that's so good, it might just convert vegetarians back to the dark (and delicious) side.
But Tony's NY Pizza isn't just about pizzas. The Antipasto Italiano is a colorful cavalcade of Italian staples, served with a side of garlic bread that's worth writing home about. The Linguini Alla Posillipo, with its tender clams, mussels, squid, and shrimp in light marinara, transports you to the Amalfi coast with every forkful. And for those who fancy a creamier fare, the Fettucine Mediterraneo, with its luxurious combination of jumbo shrimp, scallops, and crab meat, is like a first-class ticket to culinary bliss.
Not to be outdone, the Chicken Parmigiano and Chicken Brunello offer a poultry paradise, while the Ziti Pie turns traditional pasta on its head in the best possible way. The Steak & Cheese Sub is an homage to the classic Philly tradition, served with non-traditional trimmings. While not my favorite of our visit, it's still a solid choice.
Dessert at Tony's is the cherry on top of an already fabulous meal. Whether you choose the airy Tiramisu, the classic Cannoli, or the innovative Donut with cannoli filling, each sweet treat is a perfect punctuation mark to a satisfying meal.
In essence, Tony's NY Pizza is more than a pizza shop; it's a veritable treasure trove of Italian and New York flavors, served with a side of warmth and welcome. So, if you find yourself in Oakton with a craving for something truly special, make your way to Tony's. It's an experience that's sure to leave you saying,...
Read moreMy wife and I used to order from the Fairfax location & switched here when they opened in Oakton. Great food, excellent customer service. And I say that as a Manhattan-born New Yorker. Polite, professional drivers & personable folks working the phones. Have already had many very positive experiences with everyone who has helped me, but decided I had to leave this review after my most recent experience.
Wally, the gentleman helping me, politely took my order & had some very pleasant dialogue with me while the computer processed my order. After I paid, I informed him that I had covid-19 and would be placing a table outside my door for dropping off the food so there was zero contact/risk for their delivery driver. He brought the order personally to ensure it was done properly, and the food may very well be the best I've eaten from here so far.
As a business manager myself, I really commend that level of personal attention and customer service. It's been kind of a rocky week for me between getting sick and missing work the week of Christmas, and Wally's service really meant a lot to my wife and me on a night where all we felt like we could stomach was some pizza. Tony's is lucky to have him...
Read moreTony’s NY pizza hits the spot every time! I think their pizzas are a great value for the size and they use generous toppings. It’s hard to find something else in the area that has a large variety of options and can easily feed a big group with varying tastes.
I love to start with their greek salad and their home made dressing. If it’s cold out, I order a couple of bowls of their made-in-house soup. We do a lot of take-out but if we’re eating there we’ll always get some arancini and fried calamari. It comes out extra hot and crispy, just the way I like it. Everything pairs great with all of our go-to pies, including their Veggie Pizza, Margherita, and Artichoke pizza. The crust has a nice crunch and chew, and you can tell they use fresh/quality ingredients.
If I’m just grabbing a slice while running errands in the area, they have a few tables out front that I like to sit at, which is a nice touch. Otherwise, parking is always easy if we’re just picking up.
They also have wine/beer and a few cocktails! When it gets hot out I start to treat myself to a beautiful yellow limoncello or bright orange aperol spritz! Coming from Italian heritage, I appreciate that they have these on the menu...
