Good Food, Friendly Staff, Cozy Atmosphere & Affordable Prices!! We were in Fredericksburg for a few nights (June 29-July 2) for the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Championships. I had to find a nice Italian restaurant so my kids could have carbs before the big games. I am Italian and from the Northeast, need I say more!! I was delighted I found this Gem of a restaurant! Great food and Great prices. I can’t remember how I found it, but I’m happy I did. We ended up eating here (Vinny’s on Kings Highway) all 3 nights and took some of our teammates (and their Mom’s) here as well. My kids (14, 12, 10) know sauce and said “Mom, it’s homemade, not jarred sauce”. All 3 kids ate from the children’s “bambini” menu. They ordered ravioli, lasagna, spaghetti with sauce and spaghetti with meat sauce. They all loved it, every time. I got the Vodka Rigatoni with Grilled Chicken the 1st and 3rd nights and it was excellent each time. Not greasy or oily. It was like a Penne alla Vodka with grilled chicken on top. The 2nd night I ate the Tortolloni Campagnola, it was excellent. The 3rd night my oldest got the Chicken Caesar Salad and loved it. The waitresses each night were very nice and prompt. We did have to wait a little longer for food, but that’s what you have to do if you want “homemade” food. If you want ready-made prepared food, go somewhere else and get it fast. Hopefully our U16 boys will make it to Regionals next year so we can bring the boys here and enjoy Vinny’s food again! Oh, I’m back home now and craving the 2 dishes I had while I...
Read moreThe place is great, the food is phenomenal, and the prices are even better. Now, the service needs major improvements. I’ve been here twice already, and the servers were okay—just okay. This time, I went there for dinner with my family about an hour before they closed, not 10 or 15 minutes, a full hour. The second we opened the door of the establishment, we were stabbed, so to speak, with the glares of the unwelcoming staff. If I go for dinner at a restaurant with my family (even by myself, for that matter), I don’t need to feel like we are unwelcome and rushed to eat our food. Again, if it were 10 or 15 minutes before closing time, I wouldn’t even attempt to go in, but I feel like an hour before closing time is a reasonable amount of time to expect to be served and treated with respect. I still gave the server a $20 tip because I’m not a monster, but if I’m being honest, I don’t feel enticed to come back to this place, which is a shame because, as I mentioned above, the food and prices are fantastic. If you want to give this place a try, go for it, but be advised that the service is not the best, and the servers will glare at you and rush you out so they can...
Read moreI can’t remember the waitress name (middle aged blonde lady) just rude and unfriendly, if you work for tips you should maybe at lease try and don’t just assume you will get a tip because you feel entitled to one. I’ve had a unfriendly experience with her prior but I assumed she was having an off day because that happens to us all and I know how hard it is to push through and I try to remind myself you don’t know what people are going through. But today was another time and to her other tables. She didn’t even offer me a high chair, didn’t ask how are you have yoh been here before make any type of small talk immediately came over and asked what are you having to drink, took the order, brought it and checked once when we were done. Just ehh. I was at the one on 17 prior and much friendlier and nicer, can’t speak on food difference because I had something completely different each time but wasn’t a fan of service. The sign on the door should’ve served as a warning. That it couldn’t just say masks required it had to say no masks no service no (something else) no childish tantrums. I would guess she may have...
