Vinny's Italian Grill and Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

Leaving this review as I warm up my leftover pizza. Where do I start? Pizza is delicious! My go to spot for pizza is here, two guys, and piccolas. Authentic N.y style. I decided to try different items on the menu as of last night. I ordered a kids spaghetti. And a shrimp spaghetti type of thing. It wasn’t called spaghetti the shrimp thing but it sure tasted like the same sauce that is used for their spaghetti. It tasted pretty terrible to us and we actually threw it away. My children turned up their noses, and wouldn’t even try it. My husband and I tried it , and agreed we make better spaghetti at home. We are NOT Italian. We are brown, and my my do they know how to fry some chicken wings!! Ironically. They’ve got the fried chicken down pat. Reminded me of my mamas! The wrap with bacon and w.e else was delicious also. Very yum. Not too keen on the chips. I’m not a chip person anyway. But I could tell they were indeed from scratch. My husband is a chip person, but didn’t like em too much. The mozzarella sticks were nothing to discuss. Friday’s is much better. Maybe try using breadcrumbs for them as the breading? Idk to each is own I guess. The Caesar salad, I was disappointed. I’m a Caesar salad critique. My fav salad ever. I do not think it was very good. The issue for one was the dressing. If you like creamy dressing. Don’t even order it. I don’t believe in vinaigrette Caesar’s because it taste too much like Italian dressing. Did I ask for Caesar or Italian?? The other issue was there was a ton of mozzarella cheese that I did not ask for. More mozzarella than Parmesan. My goodness, stick to only parm!! And give the option to remove the mozzarella. Disclaimer please! I think that really cheapened the taste as well. The tiramisu cake, is divine. Second time I ordered it. All in all three I would never order again, and three things I would. The pasta thing turned me off so much I wouldn’t try anymore of their pastas honestly. Has a very metallic taste. I will be back for pizza, fried chicken, and cake though! Thanks.

I will say they hands down have the best n.y style pizza. Still ordering here. THE BEST TIRAMISU. And THE BEST CANNOLIS! In RICHMOND! Period!

I lasagna is good too.

Those are THE ONLY THINGS I ORDER. And it’s slamming every time so why order anything...

Food and service used to be great; now, not so much. I ordered online and was given a 7:35pm pickup time. I arrived early and waited at the curb, where everyone had been picking up orders previously. I was unaware that they had stopped this service, and sat out in my car, with it running, watching the employees inside conversing, going back and forth, looking my direction occasionally, but no one came out - even though they were knew I was there. Finally, at 7:35pm, I figured they weren't coming out, so I went in to pick up my 4 pizzas. Not only were they ready, they had been waiting in the boxes for quite some time because they were definitely not hot. They weren't cold then, but by the time I arrived at home, they were. The quality of 3 of the 4 pizzas was fine; however, the gluten-free pizza was definitely not fine. The crust margin was extremely wide and the small diameter that was left had very small quantities of the ingredients that I'd ordered. For what I paid, I would have expected the same quality of the other 3 pizzas. I had even tipped the staff (via online payment) $15 - I'm not sure why I did that now, considering I received absolutely zero service. It definitely won't happen again, but I believe that will be our last trip to Vinny's. It's a shame because they used to be such a good restaurant with great food and great service. How things...

I want to preface this review by saying that I understand that times have been difficult for the restaurant industry however, my experience at Vinnys took that to a new level. My party came in and was rushed to order food and drinks within five minutes of sitting down. We complied, as we knew they were short staffed. Upon getting our food, one of our entrees did not show up. The waitress told us it would be two minutes until it came out. Thinking that it was almost here, the rest of our party of twelve began eating. After ten minutes the waitress came out and said it would be another couple of minutes. By the time the entree finally came out, everyone else had finished eating. Nothing was done to make up for the lack of service we received, other than excuses on being short staffed. I understand that people have rough nights, but costumer service is everything and we unfortunately didn’t...
