My visit to this Waffle House was extremely enjoyable through everyone except the shift manager, La Kenya.. Savanah, our server, was not only friendly, but she was also thorough by taking our order then coming õur order, and also serving us our order too. The restaurant was half full and during õur visit the shift manager did absolutely nothing because she told us she couldn't find her cell phone. As it were, another employee named Phyllis, who was of work, came back to help Savannah with the customers because management (La-Kenya) FAILED to provide any assistance to the employees nor any customer. We, a group of 2), kept asking the manager for coffee and she literally told us it wasn't her job and that she was the manager - but as we could see, every other employee (Savannah & Phyllis) were terribly busy with in-house and take-out orders, and we couldn't understand why the manager refused to help us, or the people behind us who literally was only asking for syrup. In the end Savannah was incredible and we did our best to tip her the best we could. I wish you all would make Savannah manager because she was so nice to everyone who walked in, and did a phenomenal job serving, cooking, and waiting on all the customers with poise, graciousness, and a warm-hearted smile. Your management at this location needs to be replaced or re-trained immediately. She was rude to all the customers and treated her employees extremely poorly. Matter of fact when she did relocate her phone - instead of helping customers she proceeded to immediately lean on the counter and carry on a whole conversation on the phone, and refused to help us or anyone else in the restaurant. Overall, the restaurant was clean and our service from Savannah was exceptional. I also want to acknowledge Phyllis for bringing us coffee, and coming back on the floor to assist other customers with their condiment needs, while Savannah cooked all the food and served everyone. The location is excellent and I highly recommend this location but I'm only giving 4-stars because of your horribly ghetto & unprofessional shift manager. Please thank Savannah & Phyllis for outstanding service - for them I glad give 5 STARS all day! Kindest regards from 2 very tired & hungry travelers who wanted good down home food....
Read moreToday I thought I would go to Waffle House in Chester off of Kingsley Blvd for breakfast for the family. When I say I almost lost it. First, I attempted to call and place a to go order, but no one answered the phone. I drove over and the parking lot was not full at all. I go in to the cash register to place the order (there is NO ONE in line in front or behind me.) I wait for almost 10 minutes as the waitresses scream out orders like Rose Diner. Then, one comes up to the register and asks if I am picking up or placing an order. I tell her I am placing an order. She waves me off and says, "ok, well I am going to cash these people out 1st (3 people who had eaten already.) WHAT the heck. I been waiting for 10 minutes and you brush me off. I left with out ordering, but decided...ABSOLUTELY NOT...I'm going back. I go back and ask for the manager. The Unit manager (Chris) comes out and I explain to him what happened. He said, sorry that happened to you, but that's corporate policy. I say, well give me corporates number because I'm calling them to help them with this stupid policy. He say, "Why, calling them is not going to help..its not going to change anything." Now I am really ticked! He makes a phone call and comes and tells me the number is on the door. Read moreI don't usually post negative reviews as I'm a very positive person and I understand what goes into customer service. I've been going to this particular Waffle House for 3 years. Each time, I've come in, I was greeted with enthusiasm and treated with respect, until recently.
In the past two months, I was serviced by a young lady named Kenzie twice. (Yes I say names because this is an individual reflection, not a company reflection). Both times, she approached my table, didn't speak, looked like she didn't want to be there, laxadasical to say the least, and never checked to see if I needed anything. I don't know if she is shy or timid but I do know it was horrible customer service. (Waffle was undercooked but I'll let that slide for now).
She spent more time talking to colleagues and showing off her tattoo. I gave her two chances as the reason why I didn't give a negative review the first time. She could be seen smiling with colleagues but does not smile or greet customers nicely. I will not return as customer service is my top pet peeve. I'd rather go to McDonalds and get substandard food with better service. That's says alot!!!
The food can be just okay in any establishment but if the customer service is on point, I'll come back. When customer service is horrible and the food is good, I won't return. IT IS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. How an employee makes a customer feel will ultimately be...
