I was super disappointed with my meal and customer service on two counts.
Earlier this morning an elderly gentlemen who frequents my salon, someone whos very polite and usually tips well and in general is very pleasant was treated terrribly at this establishment. The server who was supposed to be serving him, rudely excused himself, and went to go sit at a table to talk with his buddies and left this kind older person sitting there for ten or 15 minutes waiting to order and get a drink so he left! The people there had no people skills both in his visit and mine a short while later.
My storys about the same. I walked in to make a take out order. The lady was short with me with no polite manner. Every person working there looked like they hadn't washed in days except one young girl. So much unprofessionalism.
I was so hungry I didnt even care and ordered quickly and left even quicker. Once I got back to work I began eating the waffle to find that not only were all the pecans in the very center of the waffle and none on the outside (if you make a pecan waffle right it won't be lile that. I might have overlooked this) but there were BURNT BITS OF LEFT OVER WAFFLE cooked into it!! Like someone hadnt even cleaned the waffle iron and figured it wouldnt matter. Worst waffle I've ever had. Now I love waffle house but this experience has been so bad I dont think I'll ever come back and I know for sure my elderly friend won't either.

Read moreWalking into the waffle house. I notice the open view kitchen. The first thing I see is a chef do a full back hand nose whipe then go back to cooking. It's a little crowded but its expected due to it being lunch time at noon. I get a spot on the bar, before I do, I let the waitress/hostest clean off the bar spot. She puts her tag on the seat, sits on the seat, clears off the area, then picks up the tag she was sitting on and whips the table with it. As i am now sitting at the table I decide not to order anything due to what I already saw. I watch the chefs cooking. I notice the chef that is preparing the meats, constantly whipping his hands on a wrag after he places down raw bacon and sausages on the stove. He then continueingly whips down the counter with said wrag along with whipping down the hot stove top and whipping down the egg saute pans. Finally, The waitress tends to help out and pics up the cooked bacon by hand putting it on the plate.
Sitting infront of the washing station, The pots and cast iron pans seem to be cleaned thoughouly but some cups have food splatter on them.
Glenn is one of the chefs I see with a name tag who I noticed has continueined to clean his station, wash his hands, and replace gloves.
Other than the cook and food issues. The service is well with the staff checking up on the customers well and offers their assistance. The atmosphere is...
Read moreWe always liked their food before the pandemic & would love to try it again but no one will answer the phone & take our order. We sat in the parking lot tonight on 9/11 to see how busy they were & they had 2 customers chatting with 2 workers. We called back to back 4 times & got an automated message each time telling us to call back in a few minutes to place an order because they were busy assisting other customers. We're of the thought, especially since the virus has hurt our local businesses, that every dollar made is important to a business. I wish I could say that this is a new problem but we encountered this prior to the virus on 4 other occasions. We wanted to help support our local restaurants but Waffle House on Thirlane Rd apparently doesn't want our business & doesn't care if they keep their jobs. This is just unacceptable to run a restaurant this way, especially when take out orders are the safest way to go right now. Come on Waffle House, take the phone off the automated message & take orders like...
