Woodburn Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

Stopped by here for breakfast and was greeted with a cheerful welcome from both the kind owner and her staff. The place offers your standard array of breakfast items and lunch sandwiches commonly found at delis of this nature plus a wide assortment of snack and drinks too. I got the AM Special which is a hearty platter of eggs, a breakfast meat of choice, white/wheat toast, and home fries for about $7. I had the chicken salad sandwich. It wasn't the best I've ever had but still quite tasty. Plenty of choices for drinks, snacks, sweets, etc. I just really loved the feeling of the place. Just your average cafe on the whole but as I gazed around the place I noticed nice little touches that to my eyes turned the cafe into a cozy, friendly little place. Things like books placed around the place for those that like to read while they eat (guilty!), plants to liven it up, bulletin boards for business cards or similar and friendly staff who have a friendly greeting for thier regulars. To answer your question, there was hair in my sandwich and when I brought it too the attention of the wife that is co owner, she said the steak and cheese came like that from the package. UM NO....it was the exact hair on her head.

Also, your helper in the back went from cleaning/mopping the floors to helping in the kitchen without washing her hands first. All Pele should wear hair caps, gloves and wash hands. I don't appreciate the situation so I have not returned.
