I visited Zaxbyâs and ordered a lemon pepper chicken sandwich made with plain strips (a style they used to offer on the menu). The cashier seemed confused, muffled my order, and rang me up for a spicy chicken with ranchâcompletely different from what I requested.
I went inside to correct the mistake, explained clearly again that I wanted plain strips (not lemon pepper), and the cashier and manager confirmed my order. They assured me the kitchen would remake it. While waiting, I noticed the cook glaring at me with an annoyed expression, which already felt unprofessional.
When I got to my car and opened my box, it wasâonce againâthe lemon pepper sandwich with lemon pepper strips. I went back in, and both the cashier and manager looked surprised. They apologized and said the cook would remake it. The manager offered for me to keep the incorrect sandwich, but I declined, explaining I didnât want food wasted and my family had already eaten. I requested a refund and agreed to wait for the correct order.
I then stepped out briefly to take my daughter to the restroom and informed the manager directly that Iâd be right back. He said that was fine. However, when I returned, the cashier got the manager, and he suddenly acted as though I had declined the remake entirely. He asked if I wanted to order something else, and when I reminded him I was waiting on the corrected sandwich, he insisted I had refused it. I clarified that I had only declined the incorrect lemon pepper sandwich, not my original order. At this point, 30 minutes of my time had been wasted, and I left with no food.
As much as I enjoy Zaxbyâs, this location in Northern Virginia was a major disappointment. The service was disorganized, the staff unfriendly, and the manager dismissive. Unfortunately, this is the only Zaxbyâs in the area, but after this experience, I wonât be returningâand I wouldnât recommend...

Iâve came here a total of 4 times (ordered through app every time) and every single time that i came, i waited for my order an extreme amount of time after the estimated ready time. i thought my ordering through the app, my order would be ready by the time i arrived. but no, every single time, they got me waiting at the front for a simple sandwich meal while they keep giving out their drive thru orders but today was the longest iâve waited. i ordered the classic sandwich meal through the app at about 4:12 pm and it said it was estimated to be ready at 4:20. i showed up at about 4:30 and nothing was on the rack where it was supposed to be. so i talked to one of the employees and they said that theyâre working on it. so i decided that i was going to be a bit patient, but then 10 minutes go by. i ask for any updates and the teen at the front tells me that theyâre now cooking it, so now iâm really getting impatient. iâm now visually frustrated and they still havenât seemed to do anything about my order. itâs as if they donât start making your order until 10 minutes after you step foot in the restaurant. you can see people in the kitchen standing there and not doing anything. then another 10 mins go by and they finally give me my food. when i go to check my food, it was just barely warm, as if it was out in the microwave and taken out 5 minutes ago. and the service is just awful, donât even expect anything near mediocre. employees in the front are damn near clueless. making sure to never come here even if it was the last restaurant standing. i never right bad reviews, but this time, they got...

This is my third time here, first time coming in, last 2 were drive through and one I wasnât in the car for, so canât speak much to those, other than they messed up one of the orders đ¤ˇđťââď¸. Today though, soo much attitude, evidently our being there was a bother to the 2 girls and guy I dealt with. My mom dealt briefly with a different guy that she said was nice. For the other 3, we seemed to be keeping them from there super important socializing with each other and standing around doing nothing. We specifically mentioned we were dining in, since when we noticed the receipt said to go (which we were asked about btw) we still got our food in to go containers and a bag, which is soooo wasteful and unnecessary. Meanwhile there was a tray sitting in the trash area, so somebody was served on a tray at some pointâŚ..just watched an employee walk by said tray twice, leaving it there. My moms food was like warm, mine was partially room temp and partially cold. I got the wrong sized drink, the wrong sauce, no substitution for not getting bread (that might be a zaxbys policy, but I personally would have appreciated some sort of substitute or a few more fries, of which I actually got less than my mom who did get bread too. One our ranches looked like it had gone bad. Positives, despite the temperature of it, the food we did get (other than one sauce) was tasty, the sweet tea was good, and the decor was nice, but thatâs all I can think or to say positively about my experience.
