Here it goes! My wife and I were excited to eat here today from all that we heard. However..... I am sorry to say that it was highly overrated and not a good experience at all. Line of people waiting to be seated and of course I understand due to the grand opening, but... 1,) They forgot to write my name down and after waiting for some time and noticing people going before us I checked their list and my name was not written down? bummer..had to wait and get worked in. 2.) Took quite a while for someone to offer us drinks. waitress finally came to our table and informed us that she would be back to take our drinks...waited again. 3.) Waitress brought our drinks and left very fast... we did not have a spoon to stir our coffee because we had no silverware? It took a while in being able to get a waitress attention to get silver ware. They were very nice, but looked overwhelmed and there was no flow to their service? 4.) Finally the waitress took our order and informed us that she would send someone over to refill our coffees..(because they were empty?) I appreciated this however this did not happen? I had to flag her down again and acutally asked her to promise to get us a coffee refill because she would say something and rush off... Not feeling very confident that she would make it happen? 5.) After some time... I think they forgot to bring our food when it was done because when it finally arrived it was cold. Not even luke warm. We did not have the nerve to discuss this with anyone as we did not want to bother them any more as our confidence level in their service was very low. 6.) Midway through our meal we noticed that they had not brought all our food? I again had to flag down the waitress who speaking very loud that she had brought what we ordered until I showed her the receipt (which she dropped off at our table when the food was delivered) Then she acknowledged that our order was shorted. I asked her if we could get it to go? 7.) A waitress brought the remainder of our food to go in small containers with no bag? We had to carry the containers and did not have the nerve to flag down another waitress to ask for a bag? 8.) We then went to the front to pay the ticket and the register was set up 3ft. in front of waiting to be seated area so you had to literally stand with your butt in someones face to pay your tab? Not comfortable. Nor when I was waiting to be seated (for some time) having peoples butts in my face? LOL.. 9.) Also.... when paying your bill on their fancy IPAD type register it does not allow you to put the amount of tip on it? It starts off with a 15%, 25% or 35% button????? or a "no tip" which I don't believe in, but would have liked to have left a tip appropriate to the level of service I received? so I hit the 15% button because it was the lowest and I think is a bad practice for controlling the amount of tip a customer leaves. (I do believe you shold always tip) but, a tip should not be controlled by the vendor? Summary, Nice people, No flow of service, food not that great,(maybe better if hot?) Not a good dining experience.... My wife informed me that she wanted to eat at Corner Cafe because it would blow Country Waffle and El Rosals away...(where we normally eat breakfast) Sorry to say.. Not even close... sorry, but I am a big fan of honest reviews and places of buisness need to know that service is a large part of business. I hope management reads this review and hope it helps them to restructure or make the changes needed to improve the service and live upto their reputation of being a good place to dine at? Service, Service, Service.... Get it?
There is a saying... The floor is a reflection of it's leadership, so whomever the leader is needs t read this and take full responsibility... I believe the staff was unprepared and need support.
Just so you know.... I fully understand customer service and best practices along with lot's of travel in what I do which does allow me to benchmark my experiences on dining out. Yours truly..VOICE OF...
Read moreVisited today after church to enjoy a meal with my family and was overcharged. The response made me sick. I was so disgusted by the "owner's" behavior. Watch your tabs people! The total of my food came out to $84 with change + tax and gratuity. Overall was $109 and change. I paid $60 cash and ask to put the rest on my card. When it came to the tip screen she clicked on 18% and i told her the gratuity was already included in total but she said no i didn't add it and i tried to explain to her that the waitress had already added it. She was firm to dispute it so i thought ok she must know what she is doing. When i walked out because they were closing i pulled out my phone to double check and sure enough she charged my card for a total of $58.26 which was a total of $118.26 so they overcharged me about $9. I only called to let them know and the first lady i spoke to understood what had happened so I'm guessing she went on to tell the owner and she got on the phone to continue to dispute it and I said "i don't think you understand" and replied "i would know I'm the owner"🤔. My thought was ... ok that gives you the right to overcharge me? I don't know what she is going through but right away i sensed a rude attitude with her firm, uncompassionate and inconsiderate service. I honestly felt like she didn't even care what she was adding it up to just charging left and right. So be cautious. I hope no one is ever treated the way i was today. I definitely will not be supporting others to mistreat!
The food was not...

• Steak (requested medium rare): Completely unseasoned, overcooked to medium, and somehow both tender and flavorless. Salt and pepper couldn’t save it—it had that odd, dull taste of unseasoned ground beef. Might’ve been old, or maybe someone just doesn’t know how to use seasoning.
• Eggs over easy: Not sure how this got messed up. The yolks were closer to medium and the whites were still runny. Just bad execution.
• Country potatoes: Some were chopped so large they were still raw in the center. Not just underwhelming—undercooked. I choked them down because I’d already paid $22.
• Biscuit: Surprisingly good. Flaky and warm. The only redeeming part of the meal. +1 star.
• Gravy: Over-floured and bland. Barely edible with added salt and pepper.
• Coffee: Watery, weak, and lacking in flavor. Only one refill offered. Sheesh.
Service? Subpar. It was bad enough that for the first time in years, I didn’t tip. And I always tip. That’s how disappointing the whole experience was.
I truly don’t understand what the locals see in this place. Had Mama K’s yesterday and it was a completely different level—flavor, quality, and service. Save your money and go there instead. I...
