Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Vista

Let me start by saying that I'm not a Starbucks guy. I kind of hate the place😝 I haven't ordered a drink there in YEARS. So if you like Starbucks, skip this review and stick with the consistently average😐 and readily available option (I call it the McDonald's of coffee shops🤡).

So, that said, my review is based on on lot of experience with one-off, local chains, or even other national chain coffee shops.

"Food" - There's a good variety of drink options, including hot☕ and cold🥤 coffee drinks, slushes🍹 matcha🍵energy drink bevs😬

One thing to note, which is rare... For their Mocha Latte they use chocolate milk instead of chocolate syrup. I am a Mocha guy and this is consistently my favorite, largely because of the silky smooth rich chocolate taste with no horrible last few sips of gross syrup at the bottom of every drink. They do not offer food.

"Atmosphere" - It's to-go for all orders. They have 2 drive through lanes and a walkup window. There is no where to sit. It's great for what it is, but it's not a place to hang out. At all.

"Service" - THE SERVICE HERE IS FANTASTIC. I think you have to be an octopus 🐙 to work here because the baristas all have multiple arms moving around super quick at all times. And yet the cashiers are calm and friendly and focused😀 I mean like super friendly😁 They ask how your day is going and talk about theirs. Today (drive-through) I heard a story about how our barista went to the beach this morning and wants to learn to surf🏄‍♂️

Another (walkup) bonded with my wife and I over our shared love for the chocolate milk🍫🥛 mochas and also for Fairlife milk. Whether you enjoy interacting with people or not, stop by Dutch Bros for 30 seconds of mood boosting therapy - and a yummy drink.

I worked in the food service business for 10+ years and THIS is what produces a strong repeat customer base. (Most) everybody has good coffee☕. Put a smile😊on my face too and you just gained a regular customer.

The outstanding user (customer) experience is what keeps this review at 5 instead of 4. The other factors aren't really important to the superior experience here.

This location is very convenient for me but I feel like it’s time to try a different location or give it one last try I don’t know.

I honestly feel like the staff is nice and gives great customer service however, under pressure the staff is rushing and not making the orders as placed or checking the orders properly. Not once but 3x with in a week have they got my order wrong. Today was the 3rd time I asked for a drink with “oat milk” and even confirmed before leaving they put oat milk and nothing else and was told yes. As I’m leaving I look at the drink seeing it’s way too light for it having oat milk and I take a sip and sure enough it’s breve. The lines were long both drive thru and walk up and I was not about to wait again so I just left with the drink and gave it away to someone who can enjoy it. I normally go to the Dutch bros on Oceanside blvd and have increasingly found my self preferring it over Starbucks. I stopped by this one since it was near my appt. The workers were nice and friendly but it seemed like my drink was made is a rush and sort of sloppy. I’ve never had it to where I had coffee grounds clearly displayed in my drink. The presentation of the soft stop was also lack luster. I got the caramel brûlée pumpkin latte. Overall disappointed but still drinkable. I’m not gonna throw away my purchase for some coffee grounds. Will be sticking to my usual Dutch bros...
