Due to the unreasonable nature of this experience, I am posting the following account, which was described to me by my close friend as follows:
āWe ordered three pizzas from Angeloās at the beginning of the pandemic, which wasnāt uncommon since we ordered from them quite frequently. Honestly, my son loves their pizza, so when it finally arrived, and it was wrong, I thought he was going to lose his mind because he was so hungry. We brought the pizzas in and saw they were not what we ordered. Even though it was not what we ordered, we asked our son to eat a slice in the meantime while we contacted the restaurant to rectify the mistake.
āMy husband called to inform them that they sent us the wrong pizza order. The girl said, āhold on,ā and she told us to āleave the three pizzas outside so that [we] can come to pick them up and send out new pies.ā
āWe were relatively surprised that they would want to pick up the pies after they had been in our house during the pandemic, but nevertheless, we were ok with it and told her our son ate a slice from one of the pies because he was so hungry. She said, āoh ok, hold onā (like she had to see what to do about that) and said: āok, leave the pizzas outside still.ā She never apologized for the wrong order and treated us like we were trying to steal pizza, so I wrote a letter to Angeloās explaining that given the situation and how much we order from them, it was very disheartening to see how their employee handled us. Also, I was taken aback to know that after having pizzas in our house during a pandemic, which would have effectively ācontaminatedā them, they wanted to pick them up and bring them back to their restaurant. I guess they didnāt like that because when I called today to place an order, they said we were āblacklisted.āā
Now, after hearing this from my friend, I thought it would be a disservice not to use this platform to inform other customers about how this establishment handles complaints. Frankly, I find it not only unacceptable but disgusting that Angeloās would āblacklistā a loyal customer over a single complaint due to a mix up on their end. Iām hoping this review enlightens other customers about the ārisks of being blacklistedā when they complain about an incorrect order to Angeloās.
This truly portrays not only the incompetence of the leadership at this establishment but the inability to grow and recognize errors in oneās business. Itās fascinating that the owner, or whoever blacklisted this family for that matter, genuinely thought an appropriate response to such a complaint should be to escalate it to āblacklist this address immediately,ā and it makes one wonder the mentality of the individuals running this place.
In essence, this situation invariably speaks for itself, and I would recommend going to a more superior competitor that has the mental capacity to understand that when a customer doesnāt receive their order, the restaurant should probably send them their correct order and apologize, as opposed to banning them from your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve lived right around the corner from Angeloās on Evesham Rd, Voorhees since 1980, Montagnaroās back in the day. I like their pizza (other menu items I find too greasy for my taste although some might enjoy) and the people who work there are always very friendly. They recently redid their menu with some price increases. I always get the same pizza either by slice or whole with two toppings. One week we bought a large pie with two toppings that cost $17 after taxes. The very next week we ordered the same pie and they charged us $24 and change. I called and asked what the difference was and was told they just updated their menu (so I grabbed one to see the changes) and when I change one topping (still 2 toppings total), they upcharge. $7 hike seems a very unreasonable given the times. This is April 2020. I can get my specialty pizza anywhere else for $17/$18. I still like their pizza but Iām an experiential consumer and just on principle, I just canāt eat there anymore. Too bad.
Response: Just an update to respond to owner's response which I appreciate by the way. It really wasn't a matter of price increases, businesses do what they need to do. Its the practice of upcharging. By your new menu a large pie is $14.99 + 1 regular topping $1.99 + 1 premium topping $2.99 = $19.97, not $24. I was told the reason is when you change one topping, there's an upcharge. It's not as if I ordered it already and changed it. It's a 2 topping specialty pizza you no longer have on the menu so essentially by your new menu, it's one large pie with 2 toppings. That would have been the right thing to do, just my opinion. It wasn't necessary to debate over a couple of dollars and make it an issue at that moment nor is it necessary now. We appreciate people who continue to work during these times and by the same token, appreciate the fortune of continued business as many have to remain closed. Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered small cheese pizza and fries, waited over an hour⦠slow service, no urgency, no communication! Pizza was good however the fries were cold by the time we had them because they sat in the box for over 30 minutes as the small pizza cooked. No manager took the time to apologize or address the issue at hand either. As customers of this establishment multiple times before, we expect better communication and honesty. The Berlin location has had better communication and service. We were given a specific time (30 minutes) of how long it will take for the food to be ready for pick up, we appreciate it to be adhered to. If it cannot, then we need to be informed. There were multiple customers in this shop that waited over the time they were given. If you cannot have the food ready within the time you said over the phone then let the customers know so we can choose a different pizza place to go to that night, instead of losing our business completely. We will continue to give our business to Angeloās but not this location, we will result to their sister store in Berlin instead as they show better communication and honesty on wait times. I understand Halloween is a busy holiday for pizza shops but it is important to communicate to your customers so there would not be many of us waiting over the time we were given. One customer waited over 30 minutes just be told her pizzas has yet to be placed in the oven, communication is key and tonight this store lacked...
