This little coffee shop was my first, experience outside the monster that is Starbucks and now I find it difficult having to return back to them as I am not in the local area.
The shop sits in lovely downtown Wabash which is being heavily renovated and is getting more lovely with each passing day. It is located inside the old Bradley building on Market street, which is incredibly old and scenic, you can feel the history as you enter. They've done a lot of work inside and you get a very nice 'home' feeling similar to the 'Central Perk' in 'Friends'.
They have plentiful seating, from table and chair to couches or benches and they offer a vast array of drinks from coffee, tea, smoothies and more as well as a great selection of finger foods, baked goods and candies to munch on.
On the outside is a very small section of out doors seating that can be taken advantage of on nice days.
The pricing is also far less than that of the worlds coffee monopoly.
If you are not sold yet factor in that you can explore the downtown area and other shops making an entire day of things then I don't know what will pull you in.
This is a must see if you are within an hour drive...
Read moreMy husband and I discovered this coffee shop last year while exploring downtown Wabash. We were staying in a nearby Airbnb, and were delighted with the friendly people of Wabash. This coffee shop was our favorite discovery. Their elephant-sized iced mochas were the BEST coffee we've had in the U.S. We even drove out of our way on a work trip (my husband is a puppeteer) to get 4 coffees. We each enjoyed 1 on the way to the show, and tucked the other 2 into thermoses for the drive home! Unfortunately over the past year the coffee taste seems to have changed, and it now leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. Note: the elephant size is no longer available. In addition, the last two times we visited we ordered toasted bagels with cream cheese. My husband watched them put them into the toaster, but they weren't at all toasted. This week, they also have us spoons (not knives) to put the cream cheese on our bagels. We appreciate that they use plant-based takeaway cups (with no straws!), love the decor and theme, and the staff...
Read moreSo I’m standing in line behind this guy, and he confidently says: “I’ll have The Sean.”
I’m scanning the menu like I’m deciphering the Dead Sea Scrolls—no sign of The Sean anywhere. Must be one of those hush-hush secret menu deals they only tell you about if you know the handshake or have sworn an oath.
Naturally, when it’s my turn, I lean in and say, “I’ll have The Sean,” like I’m ordering off some underground smoothie cartel.
What did I get? A frozen blueberry protein shake that tastes like winter fell in love with a blueberry farm and they eloped in a blender. It’s so smooth and frosty it’s basically blueberry ice cream that went to the gym and got swole.
Honestly, drinking it felt like I was cheating on my diet with my diet. It’s the kind of shake that convinces you you’re being healthy while your tastebuds throw a rave.
Bottom line: The Sean is too good to be a secret. Hey Modocs—put it on the menu so everyone can...
