Happy Wok — Restaurant in Waco

We had lunch yesterday and according to our Receipt, we ordered at 1:11 PM, table 5 check number 36. The servers were not very attentive as they usually are. Perhaps the owners were absent. We also ordered a lunch to go and they left out my grandson’s egg roll. We drove a long way for this food but should have checked to see if our order was correct. It was a slow period as it was after lunch. Too much talking with each other instead of concentrating on our go order. U owe us an egg roll!! if we weren’t an hour and a half away, we would come and get it but next time we want you to give us what we paid for! We’ve been there many times, and it’s always been great but the service yesterday was lackadaisical at best. One in particular, the waitress with the lighter colored hair, didn’t seem to care at all. She was slow, moving and no personality. Had to flag her down 3 times. The other waitress with the dark hair was much nicer but she is the one who brought out our go order with our missing egg roll. Not sure if it was her mistake or someone in the back. Either way she received a $9.77 cash tip and should’ve make sure...

This is another local American-Chinese fast food restaurant located in North Waco. This place was a nice little find as they serve dishes more reminiscent of actual Chinese/Hong Kong style dishes compared to other "Chinese" places in Waco. I have enjoyed their fried chicken wings, seafood delight, mapo tofu, and fried rice. All of the meals were tasty and quite delicious but not the best I've had; I would say best for Waco but not outside of Waco. They offer a wide selection in their menu and the prices are quite reasonable as per portions. The only reason I would frequent this place is because they're the only ones in Waco that have decent fried rice with slices of Chinese-style roasted pork. If you want Chinese food I would recommend this place first and Chop Stix as second.

Side note: Happy Wok's location can be intimidating to those who are less familiar with North Waco territory. But that should not deter you from actually trying...

By far the best Chinese food in or around Waco!! I genuinely get excited throughout the day when I know I'm getting Happy Wok after work. Every dish is made with care like a homemade meal. Portions are great for the price, and the meat is fresh, high quality, and delicious. Their menu is extensive, has lots of different meals and sides to choose from. Every time I go in, the owners and staff are friendly and working hard. I am from NY and grew up eating chicken and broccoli almost every weekend with my family. For over a decade I have been trying to find a Chinese restaurant of the same style and quality. After living in NY, CA, FL, and CO, Happy Wok is in my top 3 ever! This location is styled exactly like those in NY, optimized for takeout as opposed to dine-in. This may seem odd to some, but these meals are best ordered for takeout so they can be enjoyed with family and friends in the comfort of home.
