Excitedly disappointing. I was looking forward to eating here after many positive remarks about the place in the Wadsworth Neighbors Facebook Group. The first issue on this particular day is that they were so busy they quit taking phone calls and turned off their internet orders. We were looking forward to and planned on getting them all day, so rather than placing an online order we drove up there. I completely understand being swamped given the amount of positive feedback about the place on facebook just one day prior, so we expected a wait and was okay with that. The wait was the least of the issues. I thought our order was pretty simple. A Large Pepperoni Pizza, a Penne al Pesto with Chicken and Alfredo Pasta with Chicken and 3 drinks.
The first issue came when talking to the person taking our order. Every Pizza place loves to rave about having the best pie in town. The girl raved it so much, I actually started believing what she was saying was true. How their Pepperoni Pizza is "made with the pepperoni covering the entire pizza edge to edge with no space in between." Had they not raved about it in this fashion, then, at least as far as the Pizza was concerned, it would be the same as anybody else's, but we were expecting pepperoni coverage based on their ravings, not the same sparse covering with more cheese than actual pepperoni like everyone else. The pizza itself was better than the Little guy, but not as good as the hut. Don't rave about what your product cannot back.
Unfortunately, that was just the first issue. The next issue we ran into was that my Penne al Pesto that was ordered with Chicken didn't actually have any chicken in it. There is a cost difference with and without Chicken, so this was a HUGE issue. I'd like to say as a matter of opinion that this dish should not have Chicken option. This dish SHOULD come with Chicken and if you don't want it, opt out for it. Who would ever get this or the Alfredo without Chicken? It's the way the dish should be made, though I will admit that is just an opinion amidst a frustrating situation. We did take the drive back to Bosco's and they did make it right, but how do you forget the chicken? or don't put the order in as spoken? I'm still not sure which it was.
We get back to the house and realize the Alfredo Pasta, which did have it's Chicken by the way, failed to have a single piece of Broccoli, which is kind of nuts considering there isn't even an option for no Broccoli. We drove back yet again where the owner commented, albeit appearing to be jokingly, "Are you guys taking stuff out"? That is a paraphrase and was seemingly said in a joking manner, but honestly it still rubbed me the wrong way to say such a thing to a customer. Had we caught it with the lack of Chicken in the other meal, we would have addressed both issues at once, but as it was, it took multiple trips back. They did make the meals right as they were ordered and even let us keep the incorrect orders, but this was a HUGE hassle and took us way too long to actually be able to eat the meals we ordered.
When it comes to the actual food. The pizza is pretty much the same you can get anywhere else, but the Pasta dishes are delicious when made correctly. I always make a habit of giving a place 3 chances, so I will order from them again a couple more times at least and hopefully future orders will not be so much...
Read moreGreat pizza. If you ask for the one topping large $10 deal you get a great buy. It's actually better reheated in the microwave the next day! Nice management. A great new addition to choices in Wadsworth!
Update: yesterday's experience was not as good. The $10 special is now a $12.99 special. That's inflation, no big deal. I called on my way home so that I could pick it up on my way. Gentleman was extremely nice and explained that you could get the $12.99 deal, but only on-line not on the phone. Well, that could not have been more inconvenient. I'm already on the phone talking with you and you want me to hang up and login to your website? How is that helpful to anyone? It doesn't save Bosco any time as we are already on a phone call. Just write down "large Pepperoni pizza" , make the pizza, and I'll pay you $12.99 when I pick it up. Instead, I hung up. Decided that this process was stupid, and drove home with no pizza being ordered from Bosco's. This seems like the opposite result of what good marketing is striving for. Making the ordering process more difficult is usually not conducive to more sales. I still love their pizza and their employees are very kind. I just think they need to rethink this process.
Better experience last night. Tried the website ordering process. That didn't work out well. Probably me. I don't do online ordering well Called the store. Once again, great staff saved the day! They also made sure I had coupons for future orders. Great pizza as always. These folks treat you well and want to help! My favorite pizza place...
Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. My family has been giving this place business since they opened. Their pizza is good but you have to deal with careless employees and nothing is ever easy when it comes to ordering. I just got the 50 wings for $50 Memorial Day special and it was a complete joke and waste of money. The wings were the size of my pinky finger, the bones broke apart with every bite making them inedible and dangerous. While calling to complain, we (the paying customer) were argued with and not treated fairly. I will no longer give them my business or recommend them to anyone else. Never have I experienced such disrespect from a business in my entire life! This is my first restaurant review ever in 30 years.
In reply to the owner's response, it was actually my mother on the phone and I was present for the whole thing. She was not able to get a word in edgewise. The real complaint is that the bones shattered in every bite rendering them inedible due to the countless shards of broken bones with every bite. There were children trying to eat them and someone could have ended up in...
