This place is terrible!! We walked in a little before 7 on Friday and was told by the first woman it would be a few minutes, that's fine its Friday. Then a second woman came up and asked how many I told her two of us she said okay and then just stood there. We were standing there for a few minutes and a group of for guys comes in and gets seated right away at a table. Then an older couple came in and got seated right away also!! The whole time we are standing right in front of the desk so it's not like we wandered off and were out of sight. I tried to get the original two women and a man's attention to see what was going on and was promptly ignored. Finally, while ringing out a different couple one of the women said to someone else to find us a table. I told her not to even worry about it because after being ignored and passed over for other people I wouldn't spend a dime of my money at their place. We left and went to another restaurant in town that knows how to treat their guests and always has amazing food and guest service. I wish I could give negative stars...
Read moreThe food here is above average for mexican food in NE Ohio. That's more of an indictment of weak competition vs a high quality product. One thing I have say about this restaurant is they are very cheap. Stingy on chips and salsa refills, and especially stingy on soft drink refills. I can understand the former to an extent. But the latter is perplexing. Not just that the product has over a 1000% markup in profit, but how they execute this policy is wild. I sat down for dinner tonight and ordered an entree with a soft drink. The rule is 2 refills are free. So the waiter grabs my drink when it's half full, and fills it up. Doesn't say anything when he takes it. Doesn't ask or anything. I didn't need a refill. He does same thing twice. Then, halfway through the meal, I'm actually empty on my drink. He then asks me if I'd like a refill. I said sure. Says nothing about an uncharge. When I recieve the check, there are 2 charges for a drink. Waiter blames his manager. I know it's only 3 bucks, but it's the principle. It's just not good business. I...
Read moreI went here for the first time today for lunch. This place seems a little bit fancier in its layout and style than other Mexican places nearby. I had the Carnitas Dinner; the food overall was tasty, and it came out quick. I think they added too much grilled onions to the dish and the rice seemed a little soggy. But the pork chunks were good, so was the chips and salsa. *Update 4/2/23 -When I went today the experience was not nearly as good as the first time. I ordered the Steak Rancheros, it was bland and rubbery. The portion was also small and had no flavor to it at all. It says something when the chips and salsa has more flavor than the entree. Also, the waitress didn't even bring out the chips at first, but at the same time as the main course. Everything got cold as a result. And the rice definitely tasted microwaved, it had no spice to it and was soggy. For $23 the meal wasn't worth it, I didn't even tip as I didn't feel it was worth it. Probably won't be going back, I recommend going to Casa Del Rio if you crave...
