I feel compelled to write a review because what occurred during my visit was absolutely appalling and warrants further discussion. I specifically ordered a virgin margarita and pointed to the spot on the menu. I also asked if the virgins come in the same flavor as regular. After we received the bill my friend looked at me worried because my drink was the same price as hers. I'm not a confrontational person and never complain, but wanted to ask what happened. The waiter said he didn't hear me ask for a virgin so he served me a regular margarita. I understand mistakes happen, so I asked if I can get it removed from the bill. He brought over the manager and after I made my case he said "well you drank it didn't you?" Again, I don't have the most assertive personality and looked at my friend in shock. She told him how they put my health at risk and how it is unacceptable for them to avoid responsibility. I guess because I wasn't a rude and intimidating customer he felt no remorse and ended up charging me the price of virgin.
I'm sure any reasonable person could see how this was a bigger issue than I made it out to be. The list goes on as to how detrimental this mistake could have been. I am disturbed at their lack of care and not an ounce of apology. I have had food comped at restaurants without even complaining, and surely assumed something as serious as this would have been taken in a professional manner. For anyone who is avoiding alcohol for any reason...
Read moreThis has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for years. I tell everyone about it. We have always gotten take out because we had a baby but we actually ate inside today.
The food was absolutely phenomenal however, service not so much. Our server did not come over to check on us once nor ask for refills for our empty drinks. Not sure why, as I was a former server, if I only had one table I would have been so attentive. It took forever to even get a check, I had to take my 3 year old outside while my husband waited and paid. The server asked if my husband was paying cash or card and my husband said card and gave him the card. Fbe credit card receipt said $86 which made no sense but the server didn’t give an itemized bill until my husband said something was wrong and requested one. There was a salmon dish for $27 on our bill that we did not order. He removed it but also didn’t give a void/credit receipt then gave him a new receipt without the salmon dish. When he was walking over I saw him chewing so I’m not sure if he ordered the salmon and maybe accidentally originally put it on our bill but for only having 1 table I can’t see how a server could make that error.
Like I said food was incredible (food portions a little smaller but to be expected in this world). I would definitely double check your bills when you get them: probably be the last time eating in...
Read moreI'm really surprised by all the 5-star reviews. We went for lunch today, Saturday, and sat at the bar, which usually means prompt service. Not today - the bartender was gone much of the time, never clearing our empty glasses or food plates when we were done.
On the plus side, the house margaritas were pretty good, and reasonable, at $8 each. My friend enjoyed her shrimp and steak fajitas, and her sides/topping portions were huge. But they only gave her 3 tortillas, and she needed 4.
I love chile rellenos, and they are not on a lot of menus around here. Tequila's offers an entrée of three poblanos: one each filled with cheese, chicken and ground beef, with three different sauces. I asked if I could have all three filled with cheese, with the three different sauces. No problem, and I was pleased that they were so accommodating. But when the plate came, the chiles were drowned in the sauces, and you couldn't tell that they had been breaded and fried at all - just a soggy, soppy mess. I only liked one of the three sauces, so I left 2/3 of the dish.
With so many good reviews, I guess I just picked...
